Most ill disciplined batting in any series?

You value your wicket more and play with more responsibility if you know there is competition breathing down your neck to take your place.

When there is none and you operate as a retirement home any discipline or responsibility is non-existent as its all cosy.

lol@ blaming shami and bumrah's batting when they did better than Pujara, Rahane etc. Carrying chronic failures in the name of some past glory is typically indian.

Fiercest criticism is reserved for them. But entire line up from 1 to 11 batted like headless chickens in various stages of the series. That needs to be scrutinized. Apart from the first session where KL Rahul showed a lot of patience/ Kohli in the first innings of the 3rd test we were piss poor in shot selection.

Off the top of my head I can think of 3 players who lost patience & gave their wicket away.  Remember this was the 2nd innings/3rd day of a test match with the series on the line.  Absolutely unacceptable.

Kohli - was leaving good length balls outside off stump, had fiddled at 1 or 2 on that channel & survived, but then lost patience and went for that stroke.  If he had just stuck around with Pant instead of throwing his wicket, we could have gone on to a massive total.  Pant was toying around with the bowlers in the end.

Shami & Bumrah - same as above, no match awareness, Shami had to play just one ball & he had an ugly hoick, Bumrah running 2 to face Jansen & duly got out, seriously?!!

I don't blame Rahane/Pujara because I think they played to their capacity but still could not survive, unfortunately I have more trust in Shami & Bumrah being able to hang around than those 2, hence the blame on them.
