vvvslaxman Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 The way the batsmen tried to hack in this series was appalling. At time it made us wonder if we were watching T10. SA players put a premium on their wicket. Test cricket is hard work. There was no concept of "sessions" cricket. Incredibly irresponsible batting. There were two occasions India had to bat 2 more sessions to give rest to our bowlers. Failed both occasions spectacularly.
ThirtyD. Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Nothing to prove. When the captain leads the team with such statements, guess what happens? BCCI hijdes will toot the KING'S horn when he hits another glorious 30-40, because CLASS IS PERMANENT.

Sa did not even score better than us in first innings even with India playing Pujara rahana.Sa played better in second innings as they played aggressively and we're lucky.India had to set a score with 4 Batsman thakur Ashwin failed their roles along with Pujara Rahane
mishra Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 When you know a aging batsman has a weakness and you also know it has been known to opposition and they are capable to exploit it, why do you even select that batsman is beyond me. nevada 1

When you don't weed out deadwoods at the right there is no telling how much damage even one batsman can cause. We got plenty of them.

Purpose of bowlers is to take 20 wickets and win the game. Lets see where problem exists and that is Rahul Agarwal Rahane Pujara Kohli were our top 5 bats who all are allways consistently back in dressing room before team even reaches 200 then we should know that they are not good enough as batting unit.

Our side has atleast 3 bats who needs to be dropped immediately
vvvslaxman Posted January 14, 2022 Author Posted January 14, 2022 You don't need world class bowlers to win matches in SA. Most of the bowlers get some assistance. Srilanka had Rajitha, Lakmal, Viswa fernando, Rajitha. Infact Fernando and Rajitha bowled better than Steyn/Rabada/Olivier against a better unit. It is the batting that decides. Srilankan batting ripped SA bowling to shreds in two of the most important innings.
Norman Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Just look at the shots Shami and Bumrah played when they had a guy batting on 100* at the other end. Simply unacceptable. Vijy, AuxiliA, vvvslaxman and 2 others 1 4

Simply unacceptable. Yes. There was no communication between batsmen about how to go about the partnership. Just walks in and swings from the hip. If England did not engage in mental battles against Shami/Bumrah bowling ridiculous bouncers the scoreline would be different now. Edited January 14, 2022 by vvvslaxman

Bhumrah or Shami dont need to be told how to defend a total. But when a bowler comes to crease, its batsman who takes charge and communicate throughout inning but not a single bat was there n crease

The Saffers did a great job of not letting our tail score easy runs. The Indian team expected SA to self combust in the chase but the opposite happened.
Bigg Brother Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Won all 3 toss and gave away series like boss

Late Cut Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 lol@ blaming shami and bumrah's batting when they did better than Pujara, Rahane etc. Carrying chronic failures in the name of some past glory is typically indian. Vilander 1
Vijy Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 most of the batting this series was rotten, with some notable exceptions
