Why not wait for next year where he could fetch much more because he is available? It's not as if he is going to get that 8 cr this season. Or you think there has been some deal made under the table with the Ambanis which seems more likely.

Nothing amiss about it. On Archer fetching higher prices next year, what if there are no auctions next year at all or loses form and teams show no interest?

He will be picked for reputation alone in IPL for one season

There won't be any mega auctions from now on but mini auctions for released and new players would be there
