Only person who is going overboard with ridiculous hyperboles about pakistan players is you lol Nobody else. . Even as per ICC rankings Dimith Karunaratne is ahead of Babar. So is ROhit sharma. When two Asian batsmen are ahead in the rankings how can you pronounce he is the best batsman. Pant is only 2 spots below Babar in ICC ranking. Won't take too long to surge ahead.

Probably due to stat padding Babar is at no.1 in T20/ODI. Definitely he is not even remotely close to no.1 in Tests.

Keeping all the trolling aside... Yes. He's the best all format batsman in Asia and arguably in the world right now. But does he deserve the praise and accolades that kohli, ABD, Smith etc got in the mid 2010s? That's a big question and we all know the answer to that. 

 

How many players actually play all the formats regularly these days? Smith has stopped playing 90℅ of white ball cricket that Australia plays and as has Root for England. Williamson and Rohit are injured half the time and Kohli is done and dusted. Guys like Labu who's one of the best in Tests , doesn't play LOIs and De Kock/Finch the opposite. So Babar right now is "the best" of the few sorry lot where second best is probably KLPD Rahul and 3rd is prolly Devon Conway. 

 

There are probably a dozen better T20 and atleast half a dozen better Test batsmen than him currently (which was not the case with Kohli in 2016-2019) so you can gauge how seriously we can take this "best among players who play all 3 formats" thing in 2022, where teams are looking for more and more format specific players to balance the workloads.
