Yeah shakoor rana won pakistan matches against india all over the world lol.

Lol at Asia cup, even the australasia cup was a tougher tournament. Pakistan has been a stronger side for longer and the stats reflect that.

When did I say Pak has been bad?  But in the games that matter they fell short.  Lol at Australasia cup...  Even Kitply cup has better reputation than that.

I find it funny when people say

“Pakistan team wasnt as strong. India became strong so the rivalry lost its charm”

So it was fun when Pakistan used to thrash India like no tomorrow? what kind of masochist tendency is that, it was a rivalry when pakistan was a way better side than India ? Lol

One of the two teams will always be stronger on paper and Pakistan have still won much more than they have lost. It has rarely been a clash of equalas.

Problem is Pakistan has only one team for rivalry...i.e. India. Hence they try hard to keep it alive by mentioning the overall head 2 head, just to cool themselves down and sleep at night. Thats the reason you often see ridiculous comments by ex Pak players like Younus, Basit Ali, Miandad etc just to get some views.

While India has its own set of bigger rivalries with teams like Australia, England. Whether it's BG trophy, or overseas tours vs England/SA. India has much more to achieve and play for, which Pakistan can only dream. India is eyeing for Overseas victories and become a formidable side in all formats. Can't say the same about Pakistan though.

Yeah, since India Pakistan matches are rare and there is history behind it, sometimes we feel it's too important. But in the broader context, post the monkey gate incident, Indo-Aus rivalry is far far greater than India-Pak.

No. Not really. Pakistan vs eng test matches are usually really spicy and always worth a watch. I think India has lost most test matches in Eng or something. Its barely a rivalry.

TBH...compare the cricket forums of Pakistan and India...in Pak forums you will find comparison of every Pak player with Indian, I hardly see any comparison of Pak player with Bangladesh, Srilanka or even England. In ICF, search the forums across and hardly you'll find Pakistan's name. Most of the discussions are about IPL or test series Overseas in SENA.

India has beaten Australia in their own den twice, even with a depleted lineup. Thats some achievement for any nation across the world. Test series in England/SA were extremely competitive, that's what defines a rivalry.

Presently, India Pakistan is as relevant as India Bangladesh or India Srilanka, you don't want to lose but you also don't care if you don't play against them. Thats not an insult but just to show where India is aiming at.

Yes but we won the Asia Cup in 2010 & beat Pak in Asia cup 2008 in Pak & played finals with SL.  Again proves my point why India is better.  After that it's one way traffic almost.  H2H wise India has a 8-2  W/L ratio in T20s when we only play Asia Cup & T20WC..  Which means it's more than a handy criteria too.

Always funny to see desperate pak fans bring up that pointless H2H record that was built on bronze age era wins while all these internet warriors were still inaide their

abbu's balls. :giggle:

I guess it's just a cope in order to digest the fact that..

- We have beaten them in a World Cup Final.

- We have beaten them in a World Cup semifinal

- We have beaten them in a World Cup quarter final.

- We have beaten them in a World Series final

- We have beaten them 12 out of 13 times at the world stage.

2010's was our worst decade. We had the crappiest of batsmen like shehzad, shafiq, Akmals, and dross fast bowlers like billawal bhatti, talha, Tanvir and a braindead irfan. Even in that hapless decade we managed to steal an away series win on your soil and an ICC trophy.

You should be extremely disappointed that you guys were not able to get more wins in your bank against us during this time, because going forwards, it is increasingly going to be competitive and no longer the one sided affair it was.

I would speak for myself and say that I have always looked forward to Ind-Pak matches ever since I started watching.

In late 90s when I started watching Pakistan were a very strong team but India still were no pushovers. Dominated in world cups and when India were full strength (playing with Sachin) they were fairly competitive everywhere.

Eg. 1995-2000 was the era Pakistan dominated us the most.

Even in this time for the games including Sachin the stats are

32 games

Ind won 14

Pakistan won 16.

Well we don't want a one sided affair for sure.  Lack of cricket meant we couldn't take the advantage of your slump.

India suffers from selection problem & not giving ideal people a chance.  Even Ian Chappell said that.  I'd say Pakistani selectors are way more competent than ours.   Gap won't be that wide in T20s but in ODIs & Tests its huuuuuge.  Pak struggles to beat Zim & Netherlands even close to full strength but are quite dull in Test format with test match defeats to frekin WI & SL & home series defeat to Aus.   England & NZ will likey take a couple of wins too in coming Pak tour..  And may even win.

You're missing the point, perhaps deliberately. it's not what they mean and you probably know it.

Pakistan have been a better team at times in the past but the gulf in quality in all formats has never been this big, not even in the 90s when we used to lose in bilaterals but beat you in international tourneys. of course while not playing India recently has hurt their coffers it has helped preserve the hallowed h2h record which is useful online banter/troll material.

The matches certainly have lost their charm. The likes of Rizwan and Babar are quite civilized in their behaviour.

I miss the days of typical Pakistani players who were unwashed miscreants indulging in age fraud, drugs, womanizing, tampering, chucking, sledging, fixing,  beating up the coach etc.

Much more fun when we beat them in ICC events.

This lot are quite tame by comparison.
