zen Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Ever since its reintroduction to international cricket in 1991, SA has dazzled the world with its talent esp. the top shelf all rounders. To name a few: Brian McMillan (Big Mac) Lance Klusener Shaun Pollock Jacques Kallis (later more of a batsman) Others Clive Rice (honorable mention as he was past his peak when he played for SA) Hansie Cronje (useful bowler) etc. Is there any upcoming talented SA AR to watch out for? ... Though SA still has competitive ARs, this is one ingredient (top shelf ARs) that has been missing in their cricket lately. tweaker 1
Majestic Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 The best they have is Marco Jansen who can become a genuine all rounder after 5-6 years of international cricket as he will improve his batting till then. Morris had potential but he decided to invest himself more in franchise leagues than at international cricket level. Rest like Phelukwayo are bits and pieces. nevada 1
Norman Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Jansen is a seriously good talent. Guy will torment our team for years to come and will make us forget Sam Curran.
Need4Speed Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 How about Dwayne Pretorius..still early days but he has got height..mixes slower ones for CSK and tormented Indian bowlers with agressive batting in T20 last time

Vk1 Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 they were one of those early teams to rely majorly on lower order and they have bailed them out more often than not.. likes of boucher, pollock nicky boje etc contributed frequently along with the main allrounders and in overseas as well ( not just home pitches )
nevada Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Keshav Maharaj is a handy lower order batsman. Back in the day, their bowlers like Pat Symcox used to play a similar role. Symcox even scored a century against Pakistan. zen 1
Adamant Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Wiaan Mulder is the next Big thing from South Africa. He is a fast medium bowler and has got a lot of ability with the bat. nevada 1
