He could have retained his approach which was working and asked Rahul to hit or get someone to hit in his place.

I don't hv the exact stat, but it looks almost certain that Rohit has made the record of featuring in the most number of winless ICC tournaments by an Indian.

Jaddu/Kohli are also in that list. But Kohli contributed big time. Rohit/Jaddu went missing so many times
