Hope he covers all the previous t20 Wc under performances and retire from the format afterwards

If one out of Rohit or KLPD has the kind of tournament that their ability makes reasonably possible, India will do quite well this WC.  Yuvraj hitting a purple patch of form is the wave that India surfed to their inaugural WC win.  Of course other batsmen also had to step up - debutant Rohit's 50 against SA, Gambhir and Uthappa etc.  But having one batsman go 'ballistic' can set up the entire tournament.  

 

In a way, the level of negativity and pessimism surrounding our top 3 batsmen is almost a predictor of the team doing 'unexpectedly' well.

Actually this year when he's full time captain his SR has been high but average low. Conscious effort to be more adventourous.

 

However still feel his best approach is to get set and go beast mode at the end. But for that other opener needs to go big early.

 

Ofcourse record in WT20 is poor especially must win games, so that's something he'd like to improve upon.

I remember his killer start vs Pakistan in Super 4 of Asia Cup..  In fact KLPd also tried that. 

Awful middle order batting costed us the game. 

Need to make sure at least everyone contributes to make this approach successful.

Almost killed the Naseem Shah hype that day. Absolutely toyed with him but middle order messed up.

Captain has to set example - if he doesnt then he has no right to ask others to bat with better intent too 

Kl intent improved in last 2 series coz he saw kohli rohit doing it so he had no excuse left as player if his seniors were doing it

One is enough. Overall strategy matters. Captain can enforce that irrespective of approach (Has to be performing in his role though)

 

One of top 3 has to bat deep to give us better chance in slog overs

He has realized he gets out after getting set more than going on to make big scores.  This is fine for now.

Hope he does that with his fielding. Atrocious in recent times. Messed up simple stops.

Not one ICC trophy. Lost Asia cup where he was made captain after debacle in T20 WC 2021 - repeated the same performance again.

 

All we needed was ONE miraculous innings from him in last year's T20 WC or this years Asia Cup and he failed at both despite being the best batsman of the team in both tournaments in terms of form.

 

Stats padding looks great but results prove everything.

Oh I see now Asia cup is important but it was a useless tournament when he won it with a middle order of Jadhav, DK, Rayudu, MSD (2018) version.

Yes, T20 is a top heavy game with Top 3 mostly deciding the outcome of the game most of the times.

 

Every team has their best 3 players in the top 3.

 

He failed where it mattered and funnily enough everyone even in this board are putting their money on SKY to bail us out of this WT20 but not Rohit who is supposed to be the best ever captain and batsman according to your stats.

 

Let's put it this way - are you willing to bet everything you have on Rohit scoring one match winning 100 in EITHER Pak or SA game this WC T20 in AUS? If not, why not? Isn't he your best ever player according to your stats?
