Yes that 2021 WTC was annoying, so much rain yet still lost.

 

Should have taken draw, that would been icing on the cake, India were number ranked Test side for 5 years in row from 2016-2021. 

 

New Zealand won the final but are not as good as India in Test Cricket.

So, it is Sri Lanka with most losses in finals of World Cup and WT20.

Sri Lanka - 7, Won 2, Lost 4, Drawn 1

Windies - 8, Won 5, Lost 3

England - 8, Won 2, Lost 6(1 win was due to boundary count)

New Zealand - 6, Won 2( both vs IND), Lost 4( 3 of them vs Aus)

South Africa are way behind the rest of the 7 teams when it comes to ICC tournaments and even qualification for finals.

T20 is lottery format. Champions trophy should rank higher than this. You can give points to each event. Here is my ranking.

 

Odi Worldcup Final - 10 Points

WTC Final - 8 Points

CT Final - 6 Points

T20 WC Final - 4 Points

 

If Trophy is shared due to no result then divide points by 2.

CT should be below WT20 in my opinion as it is a secondary level tournament in ODIs and WT20 is the biggest T20I tournament.

As i said t20 is too short format and could be lottery alot of the time. There is no guarantee that best team win the tournament. In CT you get enough time to comeback in the match even if you are on backfoot.
