Field placement, choice of fielders - Captaincy

This was a major let down from India. Some of them are elementary. You bowl a short ball on the leg stump. On a pacy pitch like this most likely place it will end up behind the wicket not  square.  Second even by miracle you understand you need a deep fine leg you have to pick the best possible fielder there. Not Ashwin.  Atleast someone like SKY should have been there.

Strategically it was associate level. Rohit used to be much better than this. But one good thing is, under his captaincy miraculous performances have become regular. DK knock, SKY's knock at Trentbridge,  Arshdeep's magical spell at Trivandrum,  Now this

Not bad for us lol. I also see that most of world cups in t20s have all been about playing badly and then winning matches with some freakish performances.

Seriously our fielding is terrible. Too many bad fielders in the team to hide. With todays XI only Kohli ,Pandya, KL, SKY, Rohit (Catching) can be counted as safe which is literally 5/11 and very poor.

 

We are starting with minimum -10 to -15 runs with this fielding.

Seriously we need to catch up fast on this. Pakistan aren't very far ahead in this regard but SENAs will outfield us by big big margins and we won't be able to make up for those.

That shouldn't fool anyone for captaincy acumen, it's pure luck that miracles happened and goof ups got covered.
