zen Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 While a part of me is "tired" to see the batch of 2007-2012 batch still operating in T20s in 2022 (play IPL where one of the 10 Indian teams will accommodate you), a part of me still wants the team to do well. Below are 5 suggestions (too keep the list short): Arshdeep Arshdeep is primarily a limited first 2-3 overs bowler. Give Arshdeep the 1st over, so he can bowl a 2nd one inside the first 3. Shami needs to get a bowl too with the new ball. Bhuvi is relatively defensive, relying more on conditions, restrictive lines, and batsmen mistakes. In bilaterals, batsmen go after bowlers irrespective of conditions. In WC, most teams will happily adjust if conditions appear tough. Hooda Can't judge Hooda based on him playing a game after a long time and based on 2-3 balls. If you have brought him in, give him a consistent run. Maybe have him at #3 to take on the bowlers or get out. If a wicket falls early in the first 1-2 overs, Kohli can come at #3. Avoid matchups for the sake of match ups You bowled Ashwin to Miller, who simply plundered him. See who is bowling well and match situation to drive bowling changes. India does not have death bowlers. It may have those who can be functional so use them depending on opposition and their bowling on the day. Fielding Easily among the worst fielding sides. Only way to make up for it is with more runs with the bat. Walk the talk The top order (#1-3) being aggressive is not just against weaker teams. In key games, the openers have to remain positive. When India played 9 dots on the trot, many of us knew SA gained the confidence and only a miracle could bail India out. Ravi_Shastri 1

Strangering Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Fitness. Besides Kohli, none of these guys are fit enough for international sports. It's embarrassing.

Since he has been picked should play him against BD & AFG. On 10/30/2022 at 11:41 PM, zen said: Avoid matchups for the sake of match ups You bowled Ashwin to Miller, who simply plundered him. Hit couple of sixes and return to pavilion. My own 2 cents - 1.This is pace bowler's WC. Bring down KL to MO and move Virat to open . Looked much better against pace . 2. Play Axar against NZ and bowl him upfront in PP & BD. 3. Bhuvi get fuller in swingers along with outgoing ball . 4. Select Pant in place of DK. 5. Hardik to use more cutters along with short stuff & back of length . 6.Play Hooda against BD & AFG to see if he can attack spinners .Not much hope vs Pace though.

No, one ball is used in T20s … Swing depends upon cloud cover too. So if it is expected to swing, give him more chances with 1 & 3 overs. By 4th over, if wkts have not fallen, batsman are better placed too Quote Does not look to be a player who handle pace pace. Since he has been picked should play him against BD & AFG. Hooda is good enough to handle pace and bounce on good batting wickets. On tricky surfaces, he is as good or as bad as many in the team. Quote Nothing can be done . Even in future if all oldies get selected , this will become night marish. yeah, sad state of affairs Quote Aggression without consistency is what WI is ? Hit couple of sixes and return to pavilion. Don't forget that WI has won 2 T20 world cups! And then there are other such teams as well ... Neither Ind openers are consistent esp. when you consider big games, nor Ind attack good enough to defend competitive totals more often than not against in form full strength teams ... T20 is all about being positive and backing yourself. And therefore, also needs players with that attitude. Quote My own 2 cents - 1.This is pace bowler's WC. KL in MO can be looked into depending on options but with 2 games to go, it appears to be more about Axar v Hooda at this point from the team's PoV based on the game at Perth If DK is injured (went off the field in the last game), Pant is likely to come in Ind does not play AFG. Its last two group games are versus BD (Adelaide) & ZIM (MCG). Edited November 1, 2022 by zen

Being skinny does not equal fitness. International level athletes are toned for their sports. Only Kohli is visibly where he needs to be. What a lost opportunity it is with someone like Prithvi Shaw, for example. Rohit is in the same boat but is saved by being a legacy player.
