Rahul Dravid on overseas leagues

All these guys are already playing on overseas pitches for far too long. Rohit/Kohli/KL Rahul have played several matches in Australia over the years. It is nothing to do with that. Haris Rauf also played for melbourne stars. What did he do? Probably taken down by the worst batsman of the super 12. Bavuma

Haris rauf’s economy is 7.9 in death overs, one of the best.

BK is 9.64 in death

He lost the match for Pakistan on the very ground he is supposed to be better than everybody else.  Fringe players playing in other leagues makese sense. The players we have been playing in Australia for years.  That is not an excuse anyone will accept.

He didn’t loose any match for pak .. he got us in finals when it matters.

They should allow anyone not in our national squad to play. How will we know if an IPL star is international material w/o selecting for our team? this is one way.

Fringe players should be allowed as they don't have national duties.  After all several Indian players are playing county nowadays. Significant surge.

He encountered Virat when he is on song, the point is this will help players not in squad to develop their game outside indian IPL pitches.

Why does county stints help our bowlers & batters previously? they also have been playing overseas for India for years.

What are you talking about?

Which uncapped regularly gets to play in t20 leagues in SENA?

We should have a large pool like other sides are exploring and they have near ready t20 players

Heck even Pakistan are using their resources better than us

Rauf has been no less,Naseem has massively improved playing even for a brief period

This is there to see, every SENA side including Pakistan are benefitting from it

Abe chutye.. select the right personnel to win matches like these. Conditions are not the issue.. we play in Australia more than any one else. If you back mediocrity, you get mediocre results. Dravid has turned out to a big fraud

For once he's right, players have evolved by playing foreign leagues all around

We can't sit back on IPL and SMAT only

Playing franchise cricket all around the globe will help our cricketers come across many fringe potential talents of other countries,it will massively help them develop faster

Our bowlers and batters both lack awareness of t20 cricket, this is the only way

Yes. fringe players should be allowed.  No denying that. But we didn't exactly carry fringe players lol Actually only bowler that stood out was the noob Arshdeep. SKY is playing in Australia fro the first time.  We played on a pitch that is very similar to Wankede, Chinnaswamy belter.  Our top 3 played like this even on those pitches. I think  Dravid is merely deflecting the criticism with this something we shouldn't allow. It is a completely separate topic. He cannot relate our failure to this. Australia play BBL at in Australia. They got canned by new zealand

You didn't get me,im not only talking about conditions

Te more they play t20 leagues, the more innovative they will get, more exposure more awreness for this game and format

Our upcoming bowler and batters also look all at sea when they see the modern way of playing this game, they seem like not coping with the current mechanism applied by foreign players

That's a good point.

Also Iin franchise leagues, playing as overseas cricketer adds more responsibility too. You won't merit a place in those teams if all you are capable of is stat padding. You have to bring something else, maybe some of our part time spinners may develop their spin bowling game and become as good as Livingstone or Maxwell.

You would have to play impact knocks if you are an overseas cricketer in any league. The KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma type stat padding in IPl does the job for them in IPL but in leagues all round the world, expectations would be higher than that as you will be competing with players all round the globe for minimal spots.
