We need an honest person in place of Jay Shahji. We need someone like kejriwal sir. He might stream all the matches on YouTube free. Win win for us fans.

I don't think Shah is the problem, but he can improve the situation though.

You started a good thread but cannot keep your politics away from sports.

Punjab is a poor state and is broke too. There is no support for separatism in Punjab.

Back to Hockey and hoping for India to do well.

Politics is what developed the game in Odisha. The personal commitment of the CM and his party ensured funds were diverted to a good cause. The results of that are there to see for everyone.

I am stating a very obvious fact about why after years punjab hockey infrastructure is not modernised.. but money is there to be spent on election freeebies. Odhisha isn’t much more economically developed than Punjab. I want Punjab to be on the world map for hockey as it’s a state which traditionally makes hockey players.. am  I wrong to want that?

Indian newspapers, sites, media etc. are not covering this event well. Absolute clowns....they go on overdrive over low profile cricket bilaterals OTOH.

You are right. Every major city in Punjab should have a stadium like that. There should be clubs based on city names where local, non-local and even some international players play and they should try to make a league of it and televise it on local channels.

Harmanpreet is probably the MVP in the hockey world atm, for football fans he is like peak Thiago Silva but even more areas to contribute. Ace defender, and dangerous drag flicker, our other PC specialists will have to peak big time to support him. No Rupinder Pal anymore.

Maybe we shouldn't have overburdened our best player with captain duties.

We are behind the other contenders, but Harmanpreet is at the peak of his powers now. Usually a team should have 3-4 good PC takers, in our case others aren't half as good as Harmanpreet, makes it easier for opponents to prepare against us. They know who will mostly take PCs for India and they prepare accordingly.

Unfortunately Punjab despite everything has a extremely poor industrial base...  Would love to see things change but doesn't look like happening.

Good to see ODISHA being the hub of Indian hockey.  If game spreads there it would be pretty awesome.  Odia folks are naturally well built & warlike.  Modern Sinhalese in SL are direct descendants from Odisha.
