I understand your logic but no need to make up nonsense stats when u can easily look them up. Pandya came to bat in first 35 overs in 26 out of 50 innings he played in ODIs so far.

If he's really the destructive lower order batsman he's supposed to be, he would have scored a 100 out of those 26 innings. For comparison, bracewell came out to bat in first 35 overs in only 10 innings and he already scored 2 centuries, both away from home

Welcome to the club .You are saying what I have been saying for last few years. Pandya was/is incapable of playing an innings like Bracewell.

Let's see how long we will wait for his first ODI hundred.

Maybe we can wait as long as he plays clutch 40-50 knocks but do we need to wait for that also :hitler:

Apart from a couple of innings he is not doing what he is expected to supposed to do. Another guy who doesn't play domestic which is where you learn to build longer innings

All these Indian players have to play atleast two domestic matches.Pandya would have improved a lot if he played some domestic cricket. He had tools to succeed but not the will to improve.

Samething with Sundar, he bats at number 6 for his Ranji team but people here want to make him top order batsman for Indian team .Sundar is nice little player but he is like Pandya, he has to decide if he wants to become a proper batsman. Then he has to put in the hard work and score runs in FC.

VVS used to bat at number 6.VVS could bat at number 3,4, and 5 also.He was legitmate batsman who had ability as good as any top order player.

When you make lower order batsman into a specialist batsman they are likely to fail as they will be forced to take it seriously. Irfan pathan was an exception. Bracewell started his career as opener. Overa period he evolved. Now he is a lower order batsman. Sundar started his career as opener i think. Now he is lower order which is where he is likely to contribute more. Anyway i am going to forgive him this match as he was too consumed with feeding the strike to Gill which was the right thing to do. If he had played his natural game he might have done better who knows.

I am not talking about Sundar in this match at all .Anyone can have bad match or series.Sundar with his bowling will not get into the side, does he have capability of batting in top five then answer is big no.What exactly is Sundar then. With world cup being in India selectors should  more inclined to give Sundar a extended run in odis to see what he got as an allrounder.

He is sailing in the same boat as Pandya.

He is not a LOI all rounder atleast yet. You keep him at 8 or below.  Between Axar and Sundar not a lot of difference. But i think Sundar had a very decent 2022 year as an all rounder. First time was under the pump against someone going bonkers against everyone.

2022 Sundar.

Bowling

11 matches 13 wickets  @20.30 avge, Economy of 4.40, SR of 27.6

Batting

11 matches 7 innings 212 runs @35.33 avge, Strike rate 86.88

2022 Axar

Bowling

8 matches 10 wickets @25.70 avge, Economy 4.39, SR of 35.1

Batting

8 matches 6 innnings 168 runs @42.00 avge Strike rate 120

2022 Chahal

Bowling

14 matches 21 wickets @27.09 avge Economy 5.48 Strike rate 29.6

14 matches 4 innings 24 runs  8.00 avge 47.05 strike rate

Axar pips him in terms of strike rate. But i back Sundar against pace better. Jadeja will replace both.

Are these odi stats or t20 stats?Axar is number 9 at best, he is no allrounder either. Sundar is far better batsman than Axar.
