Hundreds by batters at similar batting position:

Buttler - 10

Miller - 5

Stokes - 3

Maxwell - 2

When will Pandya hit his first ODI hundred? Even Stoinis has a 146 to his name.

I want to see Pandya play a knock like the one below. When will I get to watch this or will I ever get to watch this?

Yusuf Pathan was a gem.

India doesn't produce fast bowling allrounders, that's why the likes of Pandya get overrated.

For example Jimmy Neesham has better stats and performances than Pandya in lois, still he is so underrated and not even a permanent member of the team, while Pandya is next candidate for captain.

Yousuf Pathan ODI record is pretty poor though.

Pathan didn't really get a fair run in the team, after his blazing 100 vs SA away in 2011 we played the WC at home. He was dropped there & went in/out of the side regularly, also he started his career when there was just the one new ball & chuckers like Senanayake & Chuckmal, Chuckeez among others who make a career out of it :hitler:

IPL also played a role, he may have done a lot better if he started his career today because he could really destroy spinners on his day!

Hardik Panda is an emerging skipper. He is a hard hitting batsman and a complete entertainer. After Virendra Sehwag only Hardik Pandya has been able to entertain Indian crowds with his breathtaking stroke making and power hitting that would put even the likes of Gayle, Pollard, Miller to shame.

If one compares hardik to Stokes he leaves behind Stokes in both stats and impact. It won't be wrong to say Stokes is a poor man's Hardik.

As a captain he has been able to bag an IPL trophy in his first outing. He has shown great leadership skills, master tactics and a lot of goodwill. There was never a question regarding his cricketing brain ever since Pandya emerged in IPL. He is well known in cricketing circuit to be extremely intelligent and shrewd tactician. Apart from this he is quite handsome and thus favorite of many national and international brands. He is known for his style and is one of the top style icons among Indian sportsman. Nonetheless few find his style to be too funky and pretentious but surely Hardik knows to pull off any looks with ease.

I’m afraid Pandya’s batting has regressed a lot. I think right now he might at best be capable of 50(40) type scores with the bat in ODIs which is good enough for a number 6 batter who also bowls

I don't mind playing him as an all rounder. But problem is his batting position.  He bats at 5 or 6.  That is too high for him in current form.

I don’t want Sir Don to focus on hitting 100s but play to make an impact per situation & handle pressure well.

Would not mind if he remains not out on 99.

Buttler is unreal. Unfair to compare Pandya with him. I would take 60-70s from Pandya at 120 SR over hundreds...

I will be happy if Pandya can play an innings that Phillips played for NZ the other day. But so far, there is no such memorable half century where he led a fightback and got Indian team to victory in any ODI. Please don't quote that CT final where team India already lost the match. He played some good innings here and there mostly in a supporting role in many opportunities he had.

Pandya's best inning was vs Australia where he and Jadeja stitched a partnership from being 5 down at 100 odd to taking team to 300 in the first inning of the game.

This guy plays 2 formats plus league cricket. No first class cricket. No Test cricket.  He should be fit enough to fulfill this role.  In ODI at least 6 overs. In T20. Full 4 overs. Then batting has to be reasonably consistent and impactful.
