I don't care about the ODI and T20 tournaments but feel bad about blowing the 2021 WTC final. The loss was a bitter anti climax after the heroics I. The Australia series. More than winning, I like the Aussies ability to get on with it and just play semi finals or finals like any other game. Out of nowhere they have someone stepping up and taking the game away from the opposition.

Winners win when it matters and losers complain with a bunch of excuses.

 

The catches Steve Smith and Green caught alone was worth its weight in gold.

 

Losers like Rohit Sharma, Dravid and Kohli will find hundred excuses why they lost but winners find a way to win no matter what.

 

The difference is you need not just skills but the ability to get to the finish line even if it means you get hated for being ruthless.

 

By making pushovers like Sachin, Chokholi and Dravid as demigods while dissing fighters like Kumble and Chappell we got exactly what we deserved.

 

Rohit Sharma and Kohli have loser mentality of hiding from pressure and not finding ways to win from losing positions.

 

But still made into captains. Losers will always remain losers.

 

Dhoni in his prime was a brawler who knew how to utilize Yuvraj and Raina not just for their batting but for their fielding and bowling.

 

Rohit just sits there and hopes things go his way.

 

This is why we need young energetic captains who will do their job for 5 years and move on. Not 35 year old has beens waiting in line for the captaincy based on seniority.

 

The transition from Kohli to Rohit has been the worst in Indian history.

Thats subjective... Under Rohit too, we have qualified for WTC final. 

Compare that with regime change from Tendulkar to Ganguly  where our test rankings fell to number 7 or 8 even below Zim. You probably havent witnessed the depths of Indian cricket under Azhar.

This was thanks to a fluke win in AUS thanks to Pant, Thakur, Sundar and Rahane playing out of the world innings no one expected them to.

 

Even if you recall the England Tests, Bumrah and Shami BATTING partnership won a test.

 

This is ZERO credit to Rohit. Not a single player on that list was someone Rohit brought under his wings and vouched for.

 

It was the same team that Kohli had and the same ready-made team they inherited from Dhoni a while back minus Sundar.

 

Rohit played zero part in us getting into WTC Final. He is a loser of epic proportions who just through seniority got the position.

 

Don't forget he was a total loser in Tests and was persisted by Dhoni and Kohli for YEARS before he came good.
