Again, there was no holding bowler or variety in the attack. If not Ashwin, some pacer who could have bowled frugally should have been there.

That is just conjecture on your part. Bumrah was injured so was Pant. You cannot blame captain or selection for the injuires.

You sure can blame him for selection. TM  was rightly blamed by several cricketers.

because there was nothing for him. There was for pacers and even they got belted.

No because he was unable to even nick out one single batsman by beating them in air atleast.

Ashwin is a great bowler and if India had better batting unit, or jadeja was captable to playing as batsman. Ashwin should play everywhere but that is not the case.

After that fact anybody can talk. Selection was not the problem. Captaincy and execution was the problem.

You can for not finding replacements. Ishant's replacement still not found. Prasidh was not tried.

Bumrah is tough to replace but you have to create a varied attack.

No. Many fans called out before the match. Sorry. That was a diabolical selection given the type of fast bowlers we had.

Is this a factory, where in replacement parts can be produced . You need talented bowlers to be there for selection.

Prasidh who played 11 FC matches since his debut in 2015 is the answer. If I am not wrong he is injured again. Are you kidding.

India still has not found a replacement for Kapil Dev.

We blindly  assume   one fast bowler = another fast bowler ignoring their skill sets.  Persisting with 4 seamers would make us invincible over seas. This is a misconception. You have to back 4 right seamers. Not random seamers. Also current Australian side has 4 batsmen in top 5 ICC rankings.  They were facing Rabada/Jansen/Nortje in rececnt times for fun that too in Australia. Thinking that Umesh yadav/Thakur/Shami will bully them was real stupid. Even Bumrah has lost sting post injury.

Last 2 yeasr bowlers against Australia.

Waokes has made very good impact.

He probably finished Anderson's career.  England also fell in the same trap that India fell in. They knew the track was flat. Yet they backed Anderson.

Australia has to kick out Warner for good

England has to kick out Anderson for good. And also they have to find a spot for Foakes and kick out Bairstow as a keeper. He has individually cost them the series

It is not easy to drop legend like that, other than Aussies in 2000, I have not seen any other teams discard players before the sell date.

Aussies themselves kept Ponting way past his sell date once their team became weak and there was no talent coming thru.

Woakes is reasonably experiencecd. Clouderson is not even effective with clouds. Also Broad/Anderson/Ollie all averaged 80 mph No real enforcer in the line up. Woakes is a few clicks faster also he bowls great channel like Anderson
