They rely on thes super oldies like Broad/Anderson. Stokes himself is no young. They are going to lose suddenly a lot of players.

In home conditions its ok but not on flat pitches despite playing at home. 

 

Also Robinson is a bit overrated. 

 

Wood stones and tongue should be the future. Archer is not fit for tests. Tongue has a lot of work to do himself. 

Jamie overton as backup along with potts although average are their best bet as back up options.

But fast bowlers cannot bowl endlessly.  Australia has strategically targeted their scratchy Moeen Ali.  More than 1/3 rd of runs came off of Moeen. I guarantee our trimurthis would have succumbed to Moeen if he had played against us.

Another thing is in a 5 match series bowling over 100 overs in first innings of first test will take toll of you especially if you bowl in 4th innings.

Khawaja was almost done playing cricket but he is having greatest part of his career in last two years.

That's why you rotate. Play Anderson every alternate game. 

Bring in potts, overton J and either stones or tongue. None of them are world class but you should play your fittest and in form players. Always

When aus came to India they came in prepared after touring Pakistan. Yes they lost but they prepared. 

 

England likewise toured Lanka and came to India.

 

Before wtc final last time; nz toured England and prepared by playing county teams before wtc final

 

Aus came in 2 months early to England to prepare for wtc. .

 

 

Only India never preps before touring SA, nz and then same thing happened in fifth test vs england where we arrived right after ipl season. Tired and bruised. 

Same with wtc final this time. No prep at all. Came right after ipl. 

 

No passion. They don't care. Winnable games are being lost.

I blame BCCI more than I blame players. They have to schedule it better.

Robin is trying odi tricks. Slow ball. He is already slow as it is. 

Knuckle ball. One random bouncer. One full ball etc. 

 

On flat wickets perhaps India need to do the same. Stick to a plan. We stopped planning after arun quit. Don't bowl to a plan. Don't make right selections. Don't prep before a tour or grand final gamed. 

As you said poor scheduling doesn't help

Aussies are in no hurry to score as they were in the first 45 minutes of this morning. Makes sense as they would want to bat all day today and tire english bowlers as much as they can.
