Nikola Posted June 18, 2023 Posted June 18, 2023 Great session for england today, waiting to see how australia bowl and set fields when england comes to bat.

They were a bit defensive even in Pakistan that is why they couldn't white wash them. THey let Gobar Azam make 196 runs. Aus are same as us. Very defensive side under rohit. Most useless captain is rohit. Even Cummins is better than him.

Bowling to a plan and setting fields according to opponents is a skill that needs to be seriously addressed by all captains.

Don't think cummins is capable of doing that greatly. Smith should take over field changes if they are serious about winning this match. wazza 1

Problem is Indian pace bowlers are NOT used to bowl a continous barrage of perfected bouncers on a channel. Like how Eng did this session to the last 4 lower order batsmen. Even if the field is set for bouncer, our bowlers would bowl wayward and leak runs.

We bowled to a tee. Ever since paras took over We don't so it. I can see why too. India. Bowlers are shorter without ishant so it will take more out of the body to bowl bouncers. That's why we need to have variety in attack. No sameness. In indian pitches it's unheard of to bowl constant short pitch bowling. I am sure our players can adapt. We just need a good coach like arun back. It's much harder to bowl in India than sena as a fast bowler. Frustrated 1

I saw Anderson bowling a knuckle ball out of the blue y day to exploit the slowness of the pitch. Despite lack of pace they have enough weapons in their armory which they developed over the years. Bumrah & Ishant were outstanding combo in most conditions. Shami was good in certain conditions. Once those 2 went out our fast b owling unit become very limited

Just need to stay fit. But with nca you know what will happen. Then there is Sen and harshit rana. Loads of talent is there. Need to give opportunities. India find it difficult to displace established stars. That's our problem. Suhaan 1

Then there is Sen and harshit rana. Loads of talent is there. Need to give opportunities. India find it difficult to displace established stars. That's our problem. Tyagi has good height. Reasonably uncomplicated action. But in order to master long format bowling he needs some long spells under his belt in first class. He cannot directly experiment that in Tests. Prasidh has some experience. But he has to stay fit. Cannot go missing due to injury often. Then you can't build an unit. Ideall you need a pool 7 or 8 bowlers who are all more or less equally good.

Dynamics has changed. IPL has taken precedence now. Bowlers will look ony to hone their T20 skills these days to market themselves rather than Test bowling skill. Look at Kishan. He is willingly skipping Duleep Trophy. wazza 1
vvvslaxman Posted June 18, 2023 Posted June 18, 2023 Back to match. Will England declare by EOD? Sgattick10 1
Kothili Posted June 18, 2023 Posted June 18, 2023 (edited) This is a shyt pitch. You can play bazball, azzball, baseball and whatever TF ball and project like geniuses. England are real pussies. Edited June 18, 2023 by Kothili
vvvslaxman Posted June 18, 2023 Posted June 18, 2023 Seems like Australia will be semi defensive. There is a deep square leg straight away

Tattieboy Posted June 18, 2023 Posted June 18, 2023 Bring on the declaration!!!, I love seeing Indian and Aussie minds exploding
