Eng's interesting declaration on Day 1 is helping the test stay alive for a win/loss result despite a session or so lost to rain!

"1:05pm: Inspection happens in 15 minutes, lunch will officially end in five.. I'll grab something myself. For continued entertainment till Bazbowl/Ronball takes over, it's back to Alan Gardner."

England's decision in this test has nothing to do with win or loss. It will be rain.

That declaration on day 1, due to Bazball,  means that the game can still produce a result if play resumes. If Eng had taken a session or so more to get close to 400, a session or so lost to rain would have resulted in a draw by now.

IIRC, Eng cares for win/loss results more than draws. If I am not wrong, Stokes has said that Eng likes to go for a win from any situation even at the risk of losing.

Plenty of batsmen left for Aus:  Khwaja, Head, Green, Carey and Cummins.  Aus should win from here if no overcast condition.   174 runs is nothing.  Only one stable partnership is needed.

They have to attack one of their main bowlers in this case Broad. He is the one that makes thing happen.

As per sangakkara  ground conditions is less than ideal.  But pitch is dry.  He also sees cloud everywhere.   He also says there will be swing/seam/spin on this pitch

Entire crowd goes "oooh". The noise is collective and unique. How come we don't see that kind of noise despite more crowd in the IPL? I think most of them just go to IPL matches just as an family outing. Nibbling away popcorn not really getting involved actually.
