Can we even take yesterday seriously? Combined lateral movement yesterday = 0.89 degrees. Less movement than for any single day in Test cricket in England since ball tracking started in 2006. Absolutely pathetic ball and pitch.

It suits Australia as well. THey are also suspect against moving balls. It is going to be a batting shoot out.

In the last Ashes and in 2019, Australia actually was comfortably the better side when the ball seamed around. Especially Smith and Labu stand out as good players of seam movement. No one on the English side can play it. Also, the OZ quicks can generally extract more seam movement from the deck than all English bowlers bar Ollie.

Austarlia looked out of depth against SA when they offered a green pitch> Just that SA was even worse.

True. But that was a bit of a lottery pitch. Didn't it get given a "poor" rating? I'm talking about a normal seaming pitch that we found in England - the kind India had to bat on, especially in 2014 and 2018 and Edgbaston 2019. And the Brisbane, MCG and Hobart pitches in 2021/22 etc. The OZ batsmen played movement a lot better than English batsmen.

Because that was the greenest pitch I have ever seen. Not batsmen are really comfortable when ball seams or swings.

Boland with a 6 rpo. Our Maharathees were $htn bricks against this guy, this proves my theory that our test batting needs a complete overhaul, i would go all the way upto changing the captain and giving the responsibility to Shubman gill in tests.

Our batsmen didn't bat on this pitch.

Wrong. Our batsmen were poor on a flat pitch. Pitch got easier to bat as day progressed. We just have out of prime batsmen. Poor selections. Bad calls for bowling options.

Gill would have found a way to edge here as well...  Gujara Lolli would be eaten alive by Lyon.  Same with rohit.

Indian team would have folded for 250 max on same pitch.

Our cycle is over. We did great till 2021 from 2013 2014. Now we need fresh batch.

Yes the reflexes of our oldies and their shot making capability is down in the dumps.

The way Root was using the crease against Lyon was a thing of beauty.  Nobody from our side has that kinda reflexes,  footwork nor class..

Our old players are also richer and a lot older than their actual age. Which explains the downfall. All lies and treachery.

Given how common age cheats are in Desi circles I wouldn't be surprised if a few in the current crop are way older than their "billed" age.

If the WWE can work with "billed" heights why should we lag behind eh !??!?!!
