We had the Super 6s round in both the 99 as well as 2003 WCs. And on both occasions Zimbabwe made it to the Super 6s. Infact even Kenya made it to Super 6s in the 2003 WC and went on to play in the Semi Finals.

Exactly. 6 Player missing out and yet west indies lost. Pathetic. Good i don't have to watch some of their mediocre cricket in worldcup anymore. Might have to watch some in our upcoming tour though from both sides.

They are a better Test side than LOI these days which is weird..

I think there is room for more than 10 teams in the ODI WC. Today we have a competitive Bangladesh as well as the Afghan side... Even Scotland, Netherlands and Ireland are more competitive than they were during the 99-2007 period. Switching back to a 14 Team WC with 2 Groups of 7 teams each followed by the Super 6s round could be considered again in the future.

Maybe but didn't that England team won just one match out of 19 or so? & they dropped broad, anderson + no robinson on that tour. Pakistan as test team is big lol. Cannot win single match at home in 8 matches they played.

We have seen Football WC Winners that have failed to qualify for the World Cups. This sort of thing has never happened in Cricket. This must be the first time a Former WC Winner would be failing to even qualify for the CWC.

If i remember right aftert heir loss to Ireland they failed to qualify. May be i am talking about super-12

Am more excited about SL v ZIM rather than SL v WI. ZIM and their senior batsmen are in prime form. Raza is in the form of his life with both bat/ball.
