On a lighter note.
Got this today as a forward, all Bangaloreans will agree!

"The real masterstroke was to base the ISRO Chandrayaan team in Bangalore!
The road surfaces in Bangalore were painstakingly made to resemble the lunar surface.
Each scientist was then made to navigate Bangalore traffic everyday. As a result, the lunar rover moves at speeds just a fraction faster than Bangalore traffic.
Everyone had experience in experimenting with plan A, B, C, D..... N to reach their destination. No one has highlighted the key contribution from BBMP that helped ISRO engineers simulate navigation on the moon with great precision, for the last three years!

BBMP - The Real Unsung Heros of the Chandrayaan 3 mission. "

Wish it would show tricolor (atleast the monochrome version )

Vikram lander has color camera. The rover Pragyan is by design equipped with B&W camera. It has to conserve energy to last only 2 weeks, so memory and bandwidth needs to be  designed for least consumption. More than pics, it is supposed to do a lot of chemical analysis of the moon surface to detect water, hydrogen etc. whatever it is, this is a monumental success for India/ISRO :congrats:

Has anyone got Pragyan Rover pics though?  He is the main guy in the end:hitler:

what pictures!! yes, Tiranga would have been even better!!

How do you think that the lander will land at 1000s of mph down with a flag on top? Who would hoist a tiranga after it landed? Waste of code and battery power just for one pic! They could have painted a tiranga on the Vikram !

just a hard image on the outer or Vikram, not the actual flowing Tiranga.

Not much hype about this? This is bigger than Chandrayaan :dontknow:

India would have exploded if we had a landing mission on Mars...  This is a orbiter mission hence not a lot of excitement.  Not a lot of build up to it as well planned by ISRO.  So it was a medium low key event.

Hopefully such events would boost partnerships with Western space agencies when it comes to R&D programs & we keep improving provided they are willing to share tech.
