vvvslaxman
https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/surrey-sign-sai-sudharsan-county-championship-1395326 Surrey have signed Sai Sudharsan, the India A batter, for their LV= Insurance County Championship run in. Surrey are currently top of Division One, leading their closest challengers, Essex, by 17 points. With Tom Latham now on international duty after a short mid-season spell, Ollie Pope out injured and Will Jacks and Sam Curran currently with England, Sudharsan will add to the defending champions' batting stocks. Sudharsan, 21, has only made eight first-class appearances but averages 42.71 with two hundreds. He has also played regularly in the IPL over the last two seasons for Gujarat Titans, and scored a century for India A after making his debut in the ACC Emerging Men's Cup last month. "With the busy schedule of international and domestic cricket around the world, I'm pleased to add Sai Sudharsan to our available squad of players," Alec Stewart, Surrey's director of cricket, said. "Sai has come highly recommended to me by people I hugely respect, including a couple of the greats of the Indian game, who have seen and worked closely with him. "Sai will add to the batting options for the final three games of the season, and we look forward to welcoming him to the dressing room." Sudharsan will be available for Surrey's final three Championship fixtures, starting with Warwickshire's visit to the Kia Oval for the round of matches that begins on Sunday. Surrey will also be without fast bowler Gus Atkinson, after he was included in England's preliminary World Cup squad, but have Kemar Roach returning to fill their second overseas slot, as they aim to secure a third Championship title in five years. tweaker 1 Link to comment

Kid is coming along nicely. One important thing to note is he is playing as a middle order batsman here. So we shouldn't typecast this kid as a opener and not consider him at all. By the way this is division one. Not division two. Ahem Pujara/Rahane Edited October 2, 2023 by vvvslaxman Forever Indian, tweaker, nevada and 3 others 1 5 Link to comment

One can see the temperament from the amount of time he stayed at the crease 3 hours in the first innings close to 2 hours in the 2nd innings. Surrey has wished him well :) He has top scored there as well. Lord, Sgattick10, Forever Indian and 1 other 3 1 Link to comment

My future XI with him as opener: Jaiswal sudharshan ?? [ideally would like a brisk scorer, with experience of opening. maybe dhull?] Gill --> only if he fixes his test technical issues Rinku/Iyer/Sarfaraz Pant (wk) Sundar --> if he fixes his fitness problems, and gets more batting practice [otherwise Jaddu is fine for next few years] Edited October 9, 2023 by Vijy raki05 1 Link to comment
