Secondly Rajgir doesn't have decent airport connectivity yet (Patna & Gaya are still far away). Thirdly, Bihar's politicial turmoil is a big issue in organizing the games. Varanasi is miles better in terms of connectivity (rail, road, air) & law & order. It's airport expansion is also in progress. Nikhil_cric 1 Link to comment

The people of Eastern UP/ Bihar would probably appreciate better paid teachers in Govt schools than this monstrosity .. .. who pays for this ? AuxiliA 1 Link to comment

UP govt teachers are paid well, salary is not an issue for them anymore. Bihar it's a different issue which is known to everyone. Why this stadium is a monstrosity? What does cricket have to do with salary of teachers ? East UP has developed immensely infra wise in last 8-9 years, about time it expand it's facilities towards other sectors as well. As every sports infra is setup in West/Central UP. Suhaan 1 Link to comment

The state govt leases the' sports/recreational' land to the state cricket association who build a stadium from their coffers, which is basically a hand me down from the BCCI. The UPCA will have to pay a certain amount to various UP state sports/regulatory bodies and will have to make the stadium available to them for a fixed number of days every year. That's how generally these things work. The specifics here could be slightly different , but within the same general set of rules. Link to comment

That's a stupid argument. That's not how economies work. Why are we making movies worth hundred of crores when that money can be donated to charity? If you're so concerned kindly donate a portion of your fortune towards UP/Bihar teachers' association. Then preach. Link to comment
