Sesnsors on all trains are not sustainable as even technology is susceptible as seen in the Balasore tragedy. I think we can be assured that Ashwini Vaishnaw and team - knowing all the constraints and infrastructure gaps will figure the best possible solution..to prevent a disaster. He is an extremely capable technocrat minister. We have almost 70,000 KM of railway line - that would take enormous manpower for patrolling and insane number of videos cams to monitor tracks. Also video cams mounted on the trains for track monitoring would not be of much help -high speed trains like Vande Bharat, Shatabdi, Duronto etc...cover 1-2 kms to come at a complete halt from point of breaking when they are at high speeds- don't think cameras can see that far.
