bsriharsha
Not sure Rohit wants to play till 2024. He's already 36. But if he wants to , keep him in opening. His 4 overs of hitting can set a great platform and his fielding can be managed. Kohli should probably leave T20 though. He can play fast but he can't be a destructive hitter. Link to comment

We should phase him into the team gradually. First play him as a specialist middle order bat in bilateral ODIs , Tests at home and then ease him into his full time role. SRT100 1 Link to comment
cowboysfan
I believe there is a T20 series after the WC against Australia.I think we should select all youngsters for the series. Link to comment

prudent_kreeda
Since WC just 6 months away from now , Rohit & VK , Jaddu most probably will be included by Selectors. 3 Reasons for that - - The form they are in . If Rohit maintains this form he is definitely in . - Majority of pitches in WI are slow and requires skill to accumulate runs post PP . VK fits the bill with his experience. Bang , bang may not work as we saw in last WI tour by our next gen batters. I think near white wash it was? - Most probably this is the last T20 WC for Rohit & VK and they will be given a chance to have a go at the cup . Link to comment
deathmonger
Rohit has already won a T20WC so he can leave lol. Link to comment

AuxiliA
Rohit should play on merit. He's the best 6 hitter we got. Link to comment
neel roy
Think about the pitches. In Windies pitches are abbrasive. 160 is the winning score in many matches.. its not easy to swing through the line.. and ball gets old very fast.. we need genuine hitters and enough firepower to score above average totals..kohli is a must as i can see india being 26/2 in these matches.. having rinku at the end is the best option and forget everything else, he is the only player in india after sky who can hit an OLDISH ball. All his innings has come when the ball is already 14/15 overs old.. that is a massive advantage.. my 14 will be jaiswal rohit kohli tilak sky rinku pandya Pant samson jadeja kuldeep bumrah arshdeep shami ( will be unplayable in abrasive wickets) Siraj Link to comment

singhvivek141
Anyway, whoever is selected...we need to make sure not to waste Jaiswal & Rinku anymore. Jaiswal is a power Dasher which we're looking from a long time, someone who can go bang bang from bowl 1, he also has experience of playing in Windies. We don't have a better MO batter/finisher in T20's than Rinku, very calculative batter..can play orthodox as well as un orthodox shots, is a power hitter and then an amazing outfielder. He just need 10-12 balls to get set before going bonkers. I still have some doubts on his ability to play deliveries closer to off side wide line, but he is best in what he is doing consistently. Need4Speed
I will keep Gill as an opener only if: either score very briskly at the start to complement Jaisawal or if slightly lesser strike rate then..give me consistent 20/30s..so others can go berserk around him.. else..modern day Rohit is looking better..
