They were the best team in league phase last world cup too.

India failed to beat Kiwis and England in that tournament and he batting performance in semis was absolutely shameless. Our no.8 played a blinder and yet it wasn't enough.

Here, we have defeated every team.

It was rained off against Kiwis in league phase. They lost to England  but still they were the number 1 team.

How was it shameless, swing will get people out.Indian version of Number 6 in Pandya was not good enough like Maxwell to get his team over the line.

We have not seen them play in semifinal yet.

It was shameless as you were 24-5 and then your captain cool and the best finisher ever hide down the order and came to bat at 91-6 with required rate of 7 to play a mighty innings of 50 off 72 balls lmao. It was shameful performance and should have been put in a locker in Birmingham for a week for such awful display of cricket :hitler:

in semis, batting performance can be horrendous again.

Kiwi match didnt happen in league and we lost one to hosts. Here we are hosts, so its not much of an upgrade.

It is an upgrade. Host or not, we just bottled it vs England, the cricket we played there exposed the middle order weakness big time. We also didn't played Kiwis either.

This team is better as it has a better middle order and top order is still good. Bowling has been better too. Only that #6 spot is a slight concern but rest is all sorted. Winning or losing only time will tell but the cricket we have played this tournament is worth commendable.

best option is to have jadeja at 6, or even 5. people forget that he has batted as high as 5 in tests, and done solidly there. SKY can bat at 7. maybe even 8 if that's what makes him feel comfortable

Too arrogant. Aus will beat us in semi/final

Aus has a good chance in Wankhede, but not much in Ahmedabad, were the pitch is low and slow. Shami will be a beast there(if he wasn't one already). Jadeja, who has a great record vs current Aus, will also get help there.

I am however quite worried about us chasing vs NZ at Wankhede. If NZ posts a par or better total and then knocks out both Rohit and Kohli early then... You know this story.

SKY is a specialist batsman. If he can't be comfortable as low as 6, there is no point considering him for 7 or 8. The impact is pretty low for a specialist batsman for that position. Yes, his game suits to that but you don't pick specialist batsman for those cameos and he just hasn't cracked the ODI format yet.

He should stay at 6 and try playing those knocks that he has been doing like vs England, he batted well and in last game played a fine cameo. Maybe he might produce a special knock on a big day.

You can't get stuck in ODIs. In Tests you can afford to see off a spell

Jaddu should be above SKY only if we are 4-30 inside 10 overs.

he won't get that stuck (it's not T20s). he can score at near-100 SR thanks to decent strike rotation and occasional big hit.
