Nothing skewed about it. Nagarkoti was absolutely rapid in that group match vs Australia. 

 

Even the Aussie coach said he had never seen pace like that at that level.

i noticed back in india during the quadrangular series , another left arm pacer did well in the matches he got to play, on flat surfaces made for batsmen he held his own , however surprisingly he wasn’t given many chances even after doing really well , and missed out to play in SA. seems a unique action for a left armer , tall and gets the ball moving, comparing him to naman tiwari , i would say this lad got a hard deal..

our U19s could bowld out USA 19...this is pretty average player pool we have..neither the senior nor them..have the capability to finish off tail quickly..

yes that’s a worry, could not breach USA’s defences either by pace or spin, cos we don’t have either of them in abundance, a bit of both is what we have in the bowling pool..

this Ind U19 is just as bad as senior team. some dark times ahead.

Hope they can use the experience playing in the ground of tomorrow’s match to their advantage and beat NZ.. If they win tomorrow their semi final spot is fixed as Nepal  may not be a challenge for them.. then onwards it’s two games for defending the title which has never been done by any team i believe apart from Pak.. Long way to go.. Even with the obvious weakness, if it’s their day, they can be a handful..

Well there are some bright spots such as Musheer Khan, Sachin Dhas, Saumy Pandey,  & Uday Saharan who has done really well till now & has shown his consistency.. This is the fulkrum of the team.  Some good players with potential & natural talent who  have some way to go to add maturity and game sense are Avinash, Arshin, Adarsh, Limbani, Rudra, Dhanush.  This is probably the 1st tournament after COVID cleared restrictions , hopefully the next one will have players with more exposure and a bigger pool to choose from.

U19 results are irrelevant whether positive or negative. Since 2012, we have won the most U19 world cups but in the same period we won zero ICC titles.

but we have gotten some good ind senior players that way. notably pant. hence, a good U19 is desirable

Batting wise Sachin Dhas has some class about him and his highly rated in Junior circuit. He has the power game suited for white ball cricket, plays al round the wicket, pickup shots for 6 in this tournament with 80+ mt boundaries, have been special. He hooked and pulled pakistani quicks for 6’s who are the quickest in the tournament during the asia cup ( Zeeshan & Ubed Shah). I would say he has power game equal or more than Musheer, Musheer to his advantage plays the reverse & sweeps a lot like his brother but is also a multi-dimensional batsmen, has the attacking and the long game. Sachin has not got lot of opportunitinies coming down the order, in the quadrangular & Challengers trophy he played up the order and has scored big centuries.. so hoping he can replicate one of those innings against the bigger teams in this tournament..

They are in the same group ,but both topped their respective groups hence they play the lower ranked teams and not each other..

looks like a lower-grade version of dinesh bana from last U19 WC, who has also vanished from the scene.

 

Musheer is no T20 player, but he has some solidity and can bowl tidily. I can see him doing well in ODIs and/or tests. the rest look like hacks

Not sure why the hate for this u19 side, the last three ind u19 teams were on a different scale of quality and ability, can't carry on producing the same level of talent every 2 years, this side is very good, good batting dept, consistent top order, stroke makers in dhas and avinash, all rounders, the only difference lack of height compared to the past three editions, the last world cup had tall batsmen, here all look small and slim bar arshin and avinash.
