law looks good to me but once again the BJP government have failed to foresee how this will affect the stakeholders like the farm laws.these guys are dumb as heck-they take one step forward and go 2 steps back after realising their cock up.why not publish the laws they are implementing well ahead so that they can hear complaints and make some tweaks?

What draconian ? India has bad hit and run laws. Rather than being responsible they are doing Rasta rakho. Congress walked out of the session and these passed without discussion.

Congress is responsible as well...  But damn this is pathetic overall...  Didn't they took transport unions in confidence or anything before all this.

Farmers don't know what is good for them truckers don't know what is good for them. The fact is this law badly affect them. The culture of the big vehicle is always the culprit is very their. That means if a kid comes running in front of 60 kmph running truck in Village and he dare to stop then it means mob will make mince meat of him and his truck. So what should he do stop and get lynched, run and face law?

Yeah farmers dont know whats good for them. 3 years and nobody could actually present downside of farms bill. Happens when one build an entire generation of martial race on drugs.

This law applies to all drivers - yellow lice plate and white . Anybody who hits and runs and won't report to poice (via a phone call at the least) is culpuable. Why should only Truckers strike? Ola, Uber drivers and amm junta are also impacted. The only change is the hit and run due to negligence and not reported. Nothing has changed, and government has not mandated that drivers brace a lynching mob. They have to report to the police at the earliest. The punishment is only for those who erred - speed, rash driving or DUI. This is a good law. Nobody can avoid mob violence in accidents - that's the rule of the land. Only some death sentence awarded to those who lynch can deter the mob. 

 

This is totally triggerred by Congress toolkits. RaGa is seen as a friend of Truckers after he did a BJ with them in India and USA as well. The chakka jam will affect everybody, petrol, proices and economy. How else can they cause disruption to ne iused as a mudda for elections. The loss in 3 states, Ram Janmabhoomi frenzy and impending loss in 2024 has triggered them to take such actions which is not in the the interests of the nation.  They have a ready reckoner from the anti-CAA, Farm law, protests where BJP has been napunsak in handling the protests. Be prepared for more such anarchy in the future as BJP is seen as a front-runner in elections.

BRITISH ERA IPC: No specific rules for hit & run cases. Whoever caused the death of any person by rash or negligent driving/act not amounting to culpable homicide, would be given a 2 year imprisonment or fine or both. 

NEW LAW UNDER BHARATIYA NYAYA SANHITA: 
Has specific provisions for hit & run cases. 
Under this, ANY driver (not just truck drivers) who causes death of a person by rash & negligent driving, and flees the scene of the accident without reporting it to the police/magistrate, could be jailed upto 10 years and/or be fined Rs.7 lakhs. 
 

Result: Strike, law not implemented, truckers union veto.

once again BJP has messed up royally,instead of getting feedback from truck ASSC and others over the proposed law they just announce it without any notice and take the whole thing back because of protests,this is not how Democracies work.This is not China or Russia,the Govt works for the people not the other way around.

Feedback from Truck ASSC ? Are they lawmakers ? Who has been voted to power to pass the laws ? The withdrawal was just CAA part 2 where a simple law was hijacked by nefarious elements and govt buckled. It's a mess up alright but for the country at large
