Feedback from Truck ASSC ? Are they lawmakers ? Who has been voted to power to pass the laws ? The withdrawal was just CAA part 2 where a simple law was hijacked by nefarious elements and govt buckled. It's a mess up alright but for the country at large

then why not announce these changes before hand, they could avoid these protests with more  people support.

Story of India or Tragedy of India. The dominate vocal groups strive for status quo, and resist changes. Thereby, the country is struck with decades of same many problems. And then, our people are in awe of foreign countries, whose very foundation is based on the strong laws.

Like farm laws, this hit & run laws have big overdue need & demand. How can you resolve problems, when certain groups think they have veto power...

As long people have backward mentality of lynching and doing justice on the spot drivers will always resist the change of law.

What change of ;aw? They are just asking to report hit and run , not abscond after hit and run. Is that too much to ask? Mob lynch will not be solved by this law, if that's what you are thinking.

If you hit someone and bring him to hospital within first hour, Police wont charge you. It has saved many lives.

Is this predicated on the person being saved, also one hour after what?

They are asking to stop after accident which means sureshot lynching in several areas no matter whose fault it is as Big vehicles is always culprit. The strike was pan india even in hardcore BJP states . The government have to ensure drivers that unless they are drunk or driving in very speed only in that cases punishment is going to be severe o/w punishment should be leniant or no punishment.

Nowhere does the ;law say that. It only says hit and run without reporting. They can drive to a safe location and then call the police to report.

Not sure but will assume so. He is running massive campaign to bring injured within first 30 mins to 1 hour to the hospital. It has diverted peoples attention from lynching to actual well being of injured

The new law also prescribes death penalty for mob lynching should deter people from lynching drivers. This has to be communicated to thr truckers' union. But, if the protest is politically motivated, none of this will work to turn down the veto power.

Let's not go to extremes or hypotheticals. There are many unsolved cases of hit & run.

The new laws are stronger and thus have greater deterrence. It also includes mob lynching crimes. Can you say the same thing about the existing laws, as if they are better?

One tip is to get dash-cams. They can offer some protection to drivers, and are very much essentials in foreign countries, whom also have their many strict laws.
