Worst India Top 5 in terms of batting test average in recent memory

Gill has technical issues that makes him vulnerable to the incoming ball .

He has to work on that . Complete shame if we lose him.

I just hope these blokes play with a bit more freedom knowing that we have Ashwin coming in at #9 and that there is a lot of batting depth.

terrible lineup. much lesser than even 70s, which had Sunny G, dilip sardesai (in early parts), vishwanath, amarnath, vengsarkar, etc. in various parts of this decade

KL &  Rohit still in the test team.... that says a lot about all that is wrong with selection policies. On one side , these 2 proven failures getting chances after chances. On the other side batsmen like Sarfaraz Khan getting dropped with out even playing 10 inns.... Even Gill is a bit off and  need to improve vastly from here on .

All these , despite lots of promising youngsters waiting to get their chances  at first class level.

Only jaiswal and pant deserve to be in the team based on the above.

Jaiswal will only get better, 43 is a great average for a wicket keeper batsman, one of the all time best numbers. In fact pant is 4th on the all time keeper list in terms of avarage,  behind only AB de Villiers, Flower and Gilchrist

Take out Jaiswal and Pant, and our batting is worse than that of B'desh and WI.

even if you keep them, both of this duo are highly inconsistent as they are showing in BGT. I believe that B'desh and WI would have done better with the bat. Especially B'desh has/had some experienced batters like Rahim, Sakib, Mahmudullah, and Litton
