England and false bravado

Recommended Posts

it seems to me that the one with the false bravado is India. Eng is at least trying with their limited resources. Look at India's timid batting in the 4th innings, both in the 1st test and 4th test. and yet, this team is allegedly composed of T20 "superstars" in Gill, Patidiot, Fatman, etc

India did not lay a foot wrong in the series .
fair chances given to mukesh , patidar , Bharat . Now they have not performed and jurel , khan , akash - have grabbed their chances .

India batted all right for so many fresh faces . All are upgrades over Rahane etc . With Sai Kishore , rinku waiting , the batting is in good hands .

england via root showed how test cricket should be played . England had they batted sensibly in tests 2 and 3 , would have one at least one test .

the true bazball was played by jaiswal , gill , khan , jurell , sharma , jadeja at various times in the series . Jadeja 100 was slow and boring but still v v important . Jurel 90 and gill 50 are as good a knock I have seen of vvs Laxman .

What England have done is incredible.

They have put teams under pressure and have been good enough to bowl teams out.

The fact that they are competing with India is incredible. Three tests could have gone either way.

India are missing 3-4 players but England are also without Brook and Root.

With a rookie bowling attack they have given England a scare.

Up until now they have only won lost series and even in some of the drawn series (NZ away and Australia at home) they were the better team.

They have only done half the job right. While their bowling, field placement and excellent catching even from Oldman Jimmy is commendable, their batting  collapsed like a pack of cards tme and again. If Jurel and KulD can hang around for so long, why can't the English? An extra 100 runs in the third innings would have given them the edge. I thought England were amazing in Hyderabad and in Ranchi as well where they looked like certain winners, but in the other two games, their batting was a dud.

Eh? Root is playing. And Brook is mediocre against spin, he did the smart thing to stay away and save his career.

Truth is the Poms mistook their Kiwi coach and captain for Aussies probably and believed their own hype. They need a fresh set of South African and West Indian imports to be good again, these Pakistani imports are decent but they seem to go missing in crunch situations

England have done very well here even if they don't win next test. They have competed in almost every test.

Stokes can come across an arrogant guy but he is very good captain, we have to give him that credit. His players play hard for him and he has never looked lost as a captain on the field.
