Vijy
Looks like the great Proctor has passed on. One can debate his legacy as a match referee, but having seen him play, he was one of the top 2-3 most talented cricketers I ever saw. Almost on par with Sir Garry Sobers, just that he never got to play many matches. He was an absolutely deadly bowler, who had mastered both swing and seam, as well as the use of unconventional angles and width of the crease; bowled at a brisk fast-medium pace off the wrong foot. Fantastic bowler, who could walk into most ATG teams even purely as a bowler. In Tests, he never got to showcase his dynamic batting, but he was excellent in FC with the bat - had a wide range of strokes, and a sound defense. As an AR, I rate him higher than any I have ever seen, barring Sir Garry. BacktoCricaddict and nevada 1 1 Link to comment
