No bowler in the world would like a catch to be dropped of his bowling.

Also what if they intentionally drop a catch and then the batsman goes berserk and scores quickly. They would appear foolish.

Problem is that Cricket is too traditional and personal stats obsessed. We still don't know on what parameters should we judge a great T20 batter.

That's the chance they need to take. Getting batsmen out in some cases opens the floodgates for the in-form batsman to come in and start striking from the start. Teams will need to weigh in current form, hitting ability and state of the game and make such calls on the ground. But TM should have some strategy in place around it.

yeah same with Paddikal. Pooran came in and they suddenly were in the game.

With Padikkal, no option when he got bowled. The choice they have is when a catch is offered.

Yes, a change is necessary in how we approach T20s. I feel the role of Coach should be made much more important in T20 cricket than in other formats. Like in football were the Manager calls all the shots. That way we can do away with the personal milestone obsession and be more flexible.

And no player (even if not a bowler) will drop catches as that forms a habit. Fans don't understand professional sports psychology

They can bowl wide to avoid bowled
