rollingstoned Posted April 27, 2024 Posted April 27, 2024 What will it take to make more even contests between bat and ball in the IPL? Some people might say that improved hitting deserves ota rewards but there is a way to also reward it with a more even contest between bat and ball. What will it take to make these grounds like Kotla, Chinnaswamy, Eden, Wankhede etc 160-180 par scores with some purchase for seam and spin bowlers without the pitch being a slow boring surface like Lucknow where you can never have good strokeplay? express bowling 1

Use drop in pitches 2. Keep boundary dimensions above 65m minimum 3. I want to say change the balls as well with more lacquer, but that might impact our spinners

srgadjon Posted April 27, 2024 Posted April 27, 2024 Leave some grass on the wicket, prepare pitches which have pace and bounce, have bigger grounds, remove power play, play with a ball which will help swing.

And on the couple of days before the game, they can be laid down on the ground. It's mostly popular in Australia...but other countries are also using it now. BacktoCricaddict 1

vvvslaxman Posted April 27, 2024 Posted April 27, 2024 T20 wickets are flat everywhere. Only way you can attain a balance is by forcing teams to have atleast 2 tuk tukers in their top order lol
