And who can forget that last over against SA when he defended 5 runs?

Article: https://wisden.com/stories/videos/watch-sachin-tendulkar-defends-five-runs-off-the-last-over-of-an-odi

Even before that Perth ODI where West Indies had one wicket in hand 5 runs to get in 10 overs. With overly seamer friendly conditions INdia exhausted all their 4 bowlers quota of 10 overs in 40 overs. Azhar brough ton Sachin with no choice instead of going with spinner. He conceded only 5 before getting Cummins out with a gentle outswinger and match ended in tie at 126.

And to think he was barely old enough to shave, let alone have the mental fortitude to take a national team on his back. Mind-boggling.

The quickest pacer of this venture, Jaskaran Singh, bowled a fastest of 145 k. And he does not look that tall.

An odd delivery at 145 k, at age 20, does not seem that special these days.

It would ofcourse be different if he can go upto 148 k / 150 k in a year or two or bowl with high skills at 140 k+.

handheld speed gun pocket radar show lower speed by 5-6 k than match speed guns.

Quality of the pitch was different. Prodigious seam movement. Also movement was in the air. It was near unplayable pitch  Ravi bot was the only one to cross 30. Ambrose 8.4 overs 9 runs 2 wickets.

More than his batsmanship his tendency to develop his ancillary skills is what impressed me the most. Anyone who does outside their specialization impress me.  That culture is completely lost in India.

Saw some of the videos on MRF YT channel, none of the selected bowler looked particularly tall.

Any info. if MRF working with some IPL teams? if not then being a IPL team's net bowler gives better chance to get into IPL team and state and Ind team.

Red Bull works with IPL teams. bowlers selected in Red bull speedster get to become IPL net bowlers.

Didn't Mavi clocked 149 in one of those hand held speed guns...but in IPL he was trundling at 135.

IPL? When he played for India he was an out and out knuckle ball bowler bowling at 125 kph. Massive step down as a fast bowler. He became like Mohit Sharma, Sandeep sharma.

Those 1 ball clips are not any measure of the bowlers, he might have been bowling into low 130s all day apart from that 1 single ball.

These guys were bowling high 140s in U-19 and now when they should be in their prime are reduced to sub 135 kmph bowlers, they had all the hype around them.

Mavi, Nagarkoti, Akash Singh (CSK previous season) all were bowing into 140s not they can hardly touch 140 kmph

During his teens, Sachin Tendulkar wanted to be a Fast bowler.  He had great passion for fast bowling.

Went to MRF Pace Academy during its early days. Lillee was in charge then and said that he can't be a fast bowler due to his lack of height and send him back.

We saw Tendu bowl some seam up stuff in the early 90s and he could swing the ball big and extract some bounce too.  (  and he turned his leg spinners more than Warne ). He was insanely talented as a cricketer.

Tendu also bowled off spin (conventional finger spin, not googlies) that was rarely seen in int'l cricket, but glimpsed in his early domestic career. could bowl swing, seam, leg spin, googlies, and off breaks.
