Delhi is going through a severe water crisis atm. What is surprising is that noone seems to be questioning the mismanagement of AAP over the last ten years - providing free water to everyone.

Water tanker mafias are still operational and seem to be finding water where there is none for the common person. When will the Delhite hold AAP responsible for all their misorganization? I see that AAP has as usual blamed HP for not releasing water and Haryana. No mention of Punjab ofc - or the fact that this govt has done 0 for the state other than making alcohol cheaper than any other part of the country and opening bars next to schools, colleges, and hospitals.

What I am more concerned about are parasites like Cong trying to take this model to other parts of the country. They are already ruining the Bangalore metro and buses with free bus rides and emptying the coffers with their extreme welfarism. I really hope the common person looks at the Delhites running behind tankers for water and understands what this free khata khat nonsense that some man child and his desperate congtard supporters will bring to the country.

Where ever there are regularised colonies there is no problem... Afaik, problem is only in select areas for irregular colonies, some where even water connection isn't there in homes...such homes would be let's say 2-5% , idk. Where I live, water comes 2 times daily, I live on 1st floor, the water tank is on second floor, I do not need to switch on the motor to store the water on most days.

I have lived in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Rajasthan, MP, Gujarat, Noida, ghaziabad . Water situation in Delhi is better than maybe most of India and def. significantly better than all of the places I have lived. That is due to abundance of water of yamuna.

That just highlights the problem. If water is abundant and people are running after trucks for water, that is a total failure of AAP. AAP as the ruling govt is supposed to provide the most basic necessity of water, its available as you said, and its not being provided to a percentage of people. Everyone blames BJP but its time AAP gets some flack too.

I agree. AAP mismanagement 70-80% . 20-30% blame lies with people living in these irregular colonies from different parts of the country (but they are helpless in their lives in most cases, so can't really blame them).

Delhi is big city. The parts that are closer to Yamuna have abundance of water. Parts  like South, West always had water crissis. In 90s South Delhi people started drilling tubewell so much that a blanket ban had to be put in Delhi ncr area for tubewell. I grew up in South Delhi always having water crissis especially in summer

I grew up in pitampura (north west Delhi) ....for most of my life we drank tap directly... pretty clean and nourishing. In last 10-15 yrs water quality became worse.

I can tell you there's huge difference of quality within Delhi...in east Delhi where I live I get TDS 550-600, so RO is must, in pitampura it was 150-200, RO was quite uncommon. I have TDS measuring device. For ref. TDS of bisleri water bottle is 150.

Strange that the AAP govt is going on about Haryana not releasing water. It appears that Haryana has problems of its own.

On my RWA group the president is always informing that GMDA is supplying very less water to colony because there is severe shortage. Central government instead of doing politics should look into this matter in priority as already temperatures soar to 50 degree. The more far away from river a region the more water crisis it is facing

You should stop making excuses for AAP government and Arvind Kejriwal for their incompetence. He promises that he will lay pipes and get water for even their tontis in every Delhi household in the next 5 years or 2 years . At least he got pipes part, people are using their own pipes from the water tankers.

The DJB is under AAP government and it has water crisis every summer. They blame Haryana for blocking Yamuna water. Now they claim HP has abundance and not giving, while HP government denied. Latest jibe is on MPs not effective, bhai MPs are not responsible, the Jal Board is. Nikamme log.

Isn't water a state subject?

What exactly is AAP supposed to be doing other than making ads and singing paens about themselves? After the last election they control the local municipalities as well right?

Delhi is not full state, it's power was clipped too. Delhi Government has duty to provide water in efficient way but the problem is Delhi need more water to come which Delhi government has no control

And yet Kejriwal still had the power to distribute free water? At what point do Delhites ask what value does AAP and Kejriwal provide to Delhi if everything is supposed to be managed by the central govt?

It is part of the city management, no? That's a weak excuse of Yamuna not being near South or West Delhi. This being a perennial problem means the govt before also took no action. Man, I'm used to water shortages. Its not fun at all. Overcrowding of cities doesn't help.

Like @Singh bling , I also grew up in Delhi and frankly my experience is diametrically opposite to his. I am not defensive or anything, just calling it as I see... have almost never seen water tanker in Delhi esp in regularised colonies even in west Delhi ( janak puri, vikas Puri , paschim vihar, dwarka) , or north, north west, east Delhi.... south Delhi is considered 'posh' so there you would expect good water situation. If he ever lived in Hyderabad, Rajasthan for ex. , he would say Delhi's water situation was like paradise.:cantstop:

Actually from what I have seen recently in Hyd - the situation is not as dire as it used to be. Apparently a lot of work was put into getting Krishna/Godavari water into the city. When I went there a month or so ago, my colleagues told me that they haven't had any water issues in a few years.

I like the city , lived there for 5 yrs ..left arnd a decade back but keep visiting.

There werent issues as such. During my time in Gachibowli area, water used to come in tankers in apartments all around the yr who would store it n pump it on rooftop tanks. Ask people brought up in a regularised colony in Delhi, water coming in tankers is mostly an alien concept..also it was very hard water. Quality of the water also matters enormously which people tend to ignore.

Aap politically benefitted that bjp was in charge of the municipalities. Any issue blame bjp governance (which to be fair was terrible).

Now the blame is squarely on them as aap control them.

They will still get the minority vote to keep bjp out. But their hindu lower middle class vote bank is suffering the most in this water crisis. Question is will they still back aap? Only time will tell. What still works for aap is bjp simply does not have a face to project.
