India-Eng SF2 Pre-match discussion

Still almost 2 days away, need a build-up for the Semi-Final. Lets talk teams, match-ups, ground conditions tec.

 

Both have not played in Providence yet. The same ground where Afg beat NZ. So, seems lika bat first pitch. Need to have Jaisawal in for sure. Would you drop Jadeja/Dube or Kohli?

Get butler out early rest can be managed ..else nothing is going to help.

I think butler is their one clutch batsman .rest all are flat track bullies who on flat pitches will absolutely murder any bowling but will be found out on any other pitch..

 

For India biggest worry is going into a shell...

England prefers chasing..so did India previously..not sure what they will do now. Given slow nature of pitch I suspect India will bat first and england might chase. Either way the biggest risk for India is to identify the  par score on the pitch and get that if batting first. Slow pitch .aiming too high can be risky..too conservative will let Rashid settle in...

 

If India bat second ..I have a feeling virat will take India home on that 140 to 160 track

 

There is rain forecast .dls and rain can make it less spin friendly..then it is anyone's game and luck

i as best player in gully cricket..if i got out argue it hit a stone… or if umpire dsnt give lbw…i will tell him where it and what he thought happened in how the ball travelled

We played 2 T20Is there last year.

 

Difference is last year square dimensions were 64 and 66m and 76m to cover .  They had pulled in the boundaries by around 8-9m on all sides.

 

In this World Cup , it's more like 75m square and 85m to cover and midwicket.  It's a huge playing area.

 

Also, the wicket got better in the 2nd innings even though it was dry .  And the drier of the 2 surfaces proved to be higher scoring and even better for chasing too.

 

Win toss and chase I suppose.

In gully cricket, there were WKs who used to do stumping without even the ball in their hands. They used to do it so quickly that it would be difficult to notice unless one is paying attention to their hands.

We lost a game because of one sush WK, who proudly accepted after the game that he never had the ball in his hand (made 3-4 stumping iirc)

Coming back to the match. If it rains (or maybe even forecasted), teams would prefer to bowl first without probably thinking much.  
 

If there is moisture in the pitch, it could help spinners as well.

If you look at the recent past (outside of India), India has helped out Eng. in 2019 ODI , Ind brought Eng back in form in Eng’s must win game. In 2022 T20, Ind simply raised the white flag. 
 

Ind needs to play its best cricket. Guys like Moeen are due to fire as well. He might just spin Eng to a win like he did at Rose Bowl.
