Gambit
Apparently, some are asking if KP's reverse sweep 6s today against NZ are candidates for the greatest cricketing shots ever. Many are asking if the first was the greatest shot they have ever seen in terms of technique, audacity and natural talent. While the reverse sweep has become common-place in the one-day game, the reverse slog is less popular due to the difficulty of execution. Pietersen not only pulled it off once, he did it twice. Facing the medium pace of Scott Styris, Pietersen waited until the last minute to alter his grip and stance as the bowler released the ball at the crease. Remaining upright, the Hampshire batsman took up a left-hander's posture before slogging the ball over the boundary rope, the first going for a massive 74 metres. Has Pietersen played the best shot seen on live television? Some might say the reverse slog should even be disallowed for unsportsmanlike behaviour, as the opposing team have set their field to a right-handed batsmen. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2008/06/15/ucpietersen115.xml So were they that good? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2008/06/15/ucpietersen115.xml Link to comment

printex
This shud be illegal as Nick Knight was saying. Pieterson changed his grip and became a left handed batsman to play that shot. Or allow bowlers to do the same Link to comment

Or allow bowlers to do the same I think if batsmen do change their grip and bat the opposite way, bowlers should get LBWs that they normally wouldn't if the batsmen batted in their regular fashion.(e.g. For an LBW shout, ball pitching outside leg should be overlooked for a right handed batsman who batted left handed for that ball etc) Link to comment

Mr. Wicket
Tendulkar's straight drive disguised as a forward defensive push that sends the ball rocketing to the boundary right behind the bowler. A combination of class, timing, elegance and power that few other strokes have. A noble second: Alvin Kallicharran, Gordon Greenidge, Roy Fredericks, Richards or Doug Walters on the hook Link to comment
