You all can mock him - but I am more humble.... had high hopes for him in 100m as Olympics at its core are about Men's track and field.

Sad that a country with a population of 1.4 bn has hopes set on a cattle runner to run a 100 m for us in olympics. At least if not sprints we should have enough atheletes in long distance, 5000 metre, steeple chase and walking disciplines who would have chances of winning an Olympic medal.

Yes. All eyes were on men. But women also qualified   It was a sort of a surprise that the women’s 4x400m team qualified for the Olympics as the focus was more on the men’s 4x400m team which has broken Asian record in back-to-back global events -- Tokyo Olympics and 2023 World Championships -- as well as winning 2023 Asian Games gold.

India don't have money for most sports. Sports is a luxury. 

We don't have scholarship programs in most schools. 

Plus rhe political angle. 

 

Hopefully they can fix it in the next 15 20 years.
