Ok so apparently forgot that Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Jena are up for qualification into the men's javelin final today. Hopefully, both make it through in direct qualification. After the disaster that has been this Olympics let's see if there is any saving grace left.

First thoughts the same - disaster of an Olympics...but believe it or not, it gives me hope for the future.

False advertising by jio on purpose. Neeraj's throw is slotted for 3:20 but his photo is there with time as 1;50 in which Jena is participating.

Both direct qualification with monster throws. 

 

Jena with 80.8 m ... Needs at least a couple of meters more to ensure qualification.On the border of qualification atm. His season best is only 80.9m

For a first attempt it was ok.. But he absolutely blew his second throw

Yeah. He's on 7th atm. Not good enough for the final with one more group to throw. Only the top 12 make it through to the final.

Anyways, if he can't even make 84 - he is a non-factor for medals anyways.

Julius Yego also qualifies with a 85+m throw. 9 spots remaining in the finals.
