Don't go by cricinfo or media. This the hierarchy in Women's cricket

1. Aus

2. Eng

.........

Daylight

.........

More Daylight

.........

3. Ind, NZ, SA, WI

4. Pak, SL,  B'desh

There's a reason India hasn't won any tourney barring Asia Cup. Indian women team suck big time.  They're unathletic, mentally fragile, lack power game, poor fielders, and are not built to play sports in general.

We still have Smriti Mandhana plod around and waste PP overs. Harmanpreet hasn't done anything in ages, Jemimah and Shafali Verma are good only in ads, middle order lacks hitting power (actually even the top order does), and the tail can't hold the bat. Essentially just like how our Men's T20 team used to be under Kohli - in fact even worse.

I would say.     Australia is on a different planet. Others can compete once in a while. Even if India had beaten NZ today they were going to get their butt kicked against Australia. It is a way superior team. WOmen's cricket will take a long time to get to the level of Australians.

Say what? The issue with our men's team wasn't that bad, although lack of A/R & bowlers being totally one dimensional is still a thing!

Pitch is not good to play big shots. Bowlers let NZ score too many runs

NZ players have the ability and the power game to hit 4s and 6s. Sophie Devine is a beast hitter. Our Women players cant even clear the infield. Weak,Mentally and Physically.Even Pak has 1-2 big hitters.

You do this over the top Drama all the time but never perform so it will come back to bite in the end.

They have a low ceiling. We shouldn't expect beyond that. SUre there are some good individuals. But as a team they are way way way behind teams like Australia. Too many missing elements to be a successful team.

You see..

This is why you should be a sexist misogynist bigot like me and ignore this low quality time waste that these guys call "women's cricket". Tch tch..

What say ? @New guy

Yet you spend so much time crying about women cricket. that doesnt seem like you are avoiding something which wastes your time, it looks like you spend more time and effort seeing and following and then crying about women's cricket..

See thats the biggest problem with misogynist losers, they pretend not to care but are obsessed and spend some much emotions and energy crying about something you 'ignore'. Do you even know what the word ignore means?

Now I didnt even watch the game, do you see me obsessed over it and crying about it?

You are fooling no one buddy.

This team also reached finals and lost, how is that not 'that bad'?

Australia is leaps and bound ahead of every team. Which other team are they way way behind of?

Australia mainly. England and NZ in crunch games do better. Losing to SL was a result of choking. Before they lost to BD in a crunch game. That is why they have hired a psychologist named Mughda bawre.  Yes it is a huge issue. But on the field their fielding is really pathetic. Bangladesh ladies fielded much better in one of the match i saw. Quick pick up, release, release at the right end, fielding coordination India lacks everything. There are some gifted players in the side. But that is not enough. They have to unearth more talents with better skillsets especially fast bowling.  BCCI is also responsible for that. Right now pool is very limited.

As expected India has a poor record against NZ... Just like vs England.

Forget Australia.

We used to lose to SA as well until we finally beat them in a Paytm series in India lol

It was the same. We all knew that when it mattered they would lose... just like the current Indian Women's team.

England still challenges Australia and has won a WC recently - the one where they beat India. Rest are hopeless. Eventually the final ends up with one of these two teams.

Women's cricket started seeing some incentives only recently may be 2 or 3 years back. Men's cricket team has been paid handsomely for years. We had 3 guys Rahane, Pujara, Kohli averaged in the 30s. We absolutley did nothing.  Given the talent we produce we should be winning Test series everywhere. We still underachieve. WOmen's cricket team has limited talent. So yelling at them won't improve them. BCCI just has to expand their talent search.

They're a level below England as well. Plus in must win matches, they crumble like Indian Men's team of the past decade.

No argument from my side. We've under-achieved by a huge margin. We should've won in SA if we hadn't picked a middle order who couldn't buy a run in Pujara and Rahane. And now we're doing it with Rohit and Kohli.

The difference is that in Women's case they lack skill and talent, whereas in Men's cricket it's a self-inflicted wound with star worship and politics ruling the roost.

Not many girls take up cricket as a career. WPL is only 2 years old. You will see more girls taking up cricket as a serious career. So i am going to cut some slack there. It is like Pakistan side. When you don't have enough talent cutting incentives, reducing salaries will be counter productive. Your focus should be on expanding the search for talent. But on the men's side we have surplus of talent.

Most of the players in our women team hv been playing intl cricket for 8+ yrs.  Yet their overall performance has always been consistently minnow level. This is unacceptable.  It's one thing to perform well & then choke at the final hurdle (like our men team had been doing in last 10 yrs) but another thing to earn the reputation of a minnow.
