Yeah if he only played Tests he'd not get hated.

 

Ashwin was also poor in LOIs but being dropped helped his legacy.

Ashwin was dumped in 2017 itself. 7 years back. He played very few games after that.  In world T20s he did a decent job. They should not have picked him in 2022 though. But he was a direct replacement of Jaddu. So didn't matter much.

We lost 2 tests against England back to back after thrashing them in the first test. In both tests we won the toss elected to bat and scored over 300. In both tests we had 3 men spin attack. Dont forget just a year before England had anninhilated Aus in away ashes 3-1 ( won all 3 matches by an innings which is unbelievable against aus at their den)!and if I remember in one test they scored 500 plus for loss of 1 wicket with Cook scoring a double. Pietersen scored a double century in adelaide and i think Trott acored a daddy hundred as well. So they came to India well prepared and we were reeling from the 8-0 loss away against England and Australia. Pujara was being hailed as our saviour and our other batsmen including Sehwag Gambhir Sachin was in their last legs.. so credit where it is due.. swann panesar outbowled our spinners… we were meek and never took them on.. we let them settle in.. lessons learned since then..

Both the 2010-11 Aus series and 2012 Ind series also coincided with Aus/Ind in transition. Came back next time and got hammered by a younger team.

After looking at recent RSA and Pak pitches, even rank turners are preferable. Neither do you get bored to death, nor a result in just 92 overs as happened in Cape Town.

Indian pitches I dare to say are now the best. We pick 3 pacers with seam swing availabke in 2 days. Even James anderson got wickets in the india series. Bumrah showd if you bend your backs you can get the result..and on day 4-5 the pitch spins.. perfect pitches

When Indian curators get it right (60% of the time), best place to watch test cricket.

no turner in Bengaluru but there has been rain pretty much every day mostly at night.this match is going to be affected by rain on all days.
