Rohit is ultimate HTB both as a captain and batsman in test cricket. He has done all cozy home test as captain and flunked in whatever few away tests.

 

Make Bumrah the captain, leave guys like Gill, Jaiswal alone, let them concentrate on batting.

Bumrah is a poor captain plus we can't overload him. Captain has to play every game.

Rohit is not out of the test series, he will miss one test. Why burden a young guy. 

 

You cannot base it on one test where Bumrah the bowler let Bumrah the captain down.Bumrah is experienced , he always said he loved the captaincy.

according to HT its Sai,Eashwaran or Gaikwad(uggh).I would prefer Sai because he can play in the middle order too.

KL was already in the playing XI against Bangladesh.

The only change will be that Gill will open, and both KL and Sarfaraz will play in the middle order.

One of Easwaran/Sai will be the back up opener.

 

Bigger question is on captaincy. It will be interesting if Bumrah is made captain.
