At present Indian MAGA (or flag bearers of Brown Cooleisim )should take a collective Jalasamadhi in the Pacific or Atlantic whichever suits them... Lol

I work for a company. In an essence, I am a servant. A well paid one and well valued one. I and my manager work as per the whims of organization. We both are servants.

Only a person with decadent feudal ideology will use words like "aukaat" and "servants"  and "cookies" as cuss words. Sometimes I think Ambedkar was right in his criticism.

MAGA racism aside, I couldnt find the issue with his talk. Servants doesn't have the same connotation in US and world as in India

Precisely. It is just dignity of labour.

PS: looks like literal definition of servant is something else.

you literally aren't a "servant", ever wonder why no company in most of the civilized world never uses that word for their employees?

servant by definition is someone who performs household or personal jobs. if your manager/ceo made you do his personal jobs one would be reaching out to their HR in western countries.

This how an AMERICAN EDUCATION COMPANY defines the word.

Quote

A servant works at someone’s home, often doing lowly tasks. You might feel like a servant when your mom insists that you do the dishes before you can do anything fun, but think how she feels cooking dinner every day!

If you’re a servant, you serve someone else. In that 1930s mystery novel, chances are the rich family had servants to set the table and do the laundry. Nowadays, calling someone who does those things a servant has an insulting connotation. If you think your hard work gets no respect, you might feel like a servant. But people who work for the government like to be called "public servants," because they serve the good of public and not themselves.

Are we now going to teach English to americans now? this like the JNU historian Ruchika Sharma claiming "This idea that jizya was a tool for conversion is a completely unfounded figment of imagination". Giving the proven bad faith actors the benefit of doubt they don't deserve shows our dhimmi mindset.

1. I did not know that word servant has such a deeper meaning. If what you say is correct, then the usage of that word is loaded with condescension.

2. I simply want to point out the derision most Indians have towards dignity of labour. It is by no means less than these bad faith actors have for Indians in general.

Indian being racist to fellow Indians is a problem, one we need to solve if we are to become a developed nation.

anyways the point was, a guy like vance knows full well how the words he uses will be parsed, he isn’t a lose mouth like Trump. He chose those words in the context of skilled immigrants as a signal to his base. We will treat them like servants.

Just watch the VP debate, he came out better, because unlike the radical views he is espousing now, x take downs & expletives he is using now, he was very reasonable. He looked like traditional politician trying to find a middle ground like the ones before trump.

Tim Walz (Kamala’s VP pick) latter confessed that he got disarmed by vance’s nice guy performance & didn’t go hard. At least with trump you know what he is, this guy will watch or join in as ppl like his wife & his children get racially targeted knowing full well that his position will defend his family, * others as long as gets power.

I watched the movie based on his book. Most of the time, it looks as if, he blamed the drug abuse and laziness for the penury of rust belt Americans. Not the immigrants.

He is educated, white collared profession, married into an Indian family. Hardly a profile of maga racist.

But you never know.

Yes, that was when he called Trump hitler. He was famous among dem circles and his book was widely cited as a way to understand the rust belt. Then he wanted to become a senator…. The rest is history.

As I said elsewhere these politicians may not be racists themselves, but if they think instigating the masses against the other gets them the power they need they don’t care.

Anyone doing a job either for private or govt organisation is a servant of that organisation. In Hindi, people usually call sarkari Naukar means Government servant, sarkari Naukri means Government service.

Not in pvt sector...An IT employee working in pvt sector can switch jobs the moment he is feeling left out. It's a transactional relationship now, you pay me...I will work for you.
It was indeed the scene till late 90s when opportunities were less, and people will stick to a job till they retire, and in process will endure every insult, appreciation that's thrown on to him.

The people whose 1st language is English literally tell you why government employees are “public servants” while not appropriate for other cases

One of the biggest controversies of 2016 was Hilary rightly calling some Trump supporters are deplorable.

here the potus is joking about assaulting Americans. They are slow walking into a civil war.

What is the point of protests? It should be point based or issue based.

Here it seems to be against Trump. These look pointless.

Of course, brothers living in amreeka can explain better. What the hell is going on?

The whole point of the protest is in the name “no kings”. Not sure how you came to the conclusion that there are no issues when you are unaware of the issues in the US.

1.trump has been usurping states rights, if you have lived states, you will know how big states rights are in the US. Republicans shamelessly tried to rewrite history by claiming the civil war was about states rights not slavery.

now Trump has unilaterally without approval of the governors of the states has sent in the military into democratic cities, ignoring that the law allows for military ops within the country only under extreme situations like invasion, insurrection, total breakdown of law & order.

Now if you look like an Hispanic or an immigrant you can be chased for your papers. Again if you lived in US, you would know being stopped & asked for papers is something Americans claimed only happens in fascist countries. There have been cases that citizens have been detained ant ICE facilities until they can prove citizenship & in some cases it has happened multiple times to the same person. This ina a country where even traffic stops should have some reason.

Judicial challenge are moving to the Supreme Court, Trump seems to have lost cases even though courts initially gave him some deference.

2. Tariffs, they are essentially taxes on ppl. As such per the constitution only Congress has the ability to tax ppl & levy tariffs. They had given the president some emergency powers, but this has been totally usurped to levy broad based tariffs. US agriculture has been utterly devastated by his unilateral actions & small businesses which depend on imports are verge of losing everything.

https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2025/10/17/how-much-trump-tariffs-are-costing-small-businesses.html

He has lost all cases in lower courts, it’s heading to supreme court too.

3. Govt is now shutdown, trump is essentially using this as an excuse to purge federal departments he doesn’t like. Like environmental protection, health & education departments, firing employees & cutting funding to democratic states unilaterally. All these agencies are created by Congress & funds appropriated by Congress, he is essentially telling the blue states who pay most federal tax money, that you don’t get your appropriated funds for federal programs unless you agree with him.

4. US system is essentially based on 3 co equal branches of govt. the Congress which makes laws & has the power of the purse, the judiciary which determines whether laws are constitutional, & executive which is supposed to execute the laws.

Trump admin is pushing a theory of Unitary executive & plenary authority, this page gives some background on it.

https://www.delawareonline.com/story/news/2025/10/08/what-is-plenary-authority-does-president-tru-have-plenary-power-what-is-the-insurrection-act/86580957007/#

It essentially argues since power to execute laws is with the executive it will chose what to execute, when to execute or whether to execute laws. It essentially claims unlimited power & to take action on an issue without limitations.

If you read history you know where this is going. one of the founding principles of US is there can be no king, hence 3 coequal branches to check each other. Hence the no kings protest.

Just to add something please read up on 3.5% rule, this is the theory behind mass protests.

@IndianRenegade thanks.  this may all be true. But you know as countries head to civil war, who is right or wrong or what are the priciples becomes irrelevant. Trump has to only cater to his base which is 50% of US roughly. That's all he has to engage with. And most of them think he is being funny by taking dump on protesters. Literally.

Now that should lead you to question of where is US heading. Unfortunately once one gets integrated in US, they get into a spin zone from where big picture or objective view point goes for a toss. Left vs right is a charade.

Question is of when not whether US is heading for a break up. Can't be too sure on size and scale.  Fissures are too deep. And external actors are also helping playing it up. And then comes Trump. Last straw in some sense. He will push the country to breaking point by 2028. Rest will be taken care by war, stagflation and debt burden.

My own hunch is first talks on secession will started before 2028. And then it will spiral from there. It will start to become an issue on the ballot.

Frankly the video doesn’t matter, it isn’t 2017 anymore, ppl know there is nothing better to expect from him. They will forget it within a couple of days.

If you watch political podcasts or radio talk of civil war, national divorce or cession is common among right wing pundits. But I am seeing left wing pundits call for it the first time, so this seems different.

But there has to be a precipitating occasion, I am no Nostradamus, but my 2 cents is Nov 26, midterms are the key. Dems overwhelmingly have lost faith in the judiciary, by that I mean the Supreme Court. They view it was illegitimately body stolen by blocking Obama & accuse it of inventing legal theories to protect Trump or side with him.

Trumps approval rating under normal circumstances would mean GOP is routed in the midterms & democrats at least take back the house. This means they can act as a check in at least one branch, feel that they are part of the process.

but Trump & republicans are playing a dangerous game trying to gerrymander red states to draw Dems out of their seats, if they succeed & Dems lose the midterms because of it. Dems will feel powerless, not just because they were unpopular but because republicans stole power illegitimately. They will feel the union makes no sense, as they pay the most taxes, they have more people but have no seat at the table. That is a dangerous thing.
