The French don’t have much geo political interest in our region, if they did most of it aligns with India’s.

 

US has geopolitical interests in this region, we are not completely on board with it. It surprises me much of our strategic planning depends on US willingly giving away ToT & localizing production without giving it much, especially when Trump is the leader!

Unfortunately like Canada & Mexico found out, & India is finding out. Any deal with Trump is not worth the paper it is written on. 
 

if his mood changes he will call the same deal he made is unfair & demand more flesh. I am seeing a very hard 3.5 yrs for India unless the Indians pull off a diplomatic coup, highly unlikely as we have already made simple mistakes like releasing read out call where Modi berates Trump.

Let me play some devils advocate here, Indian FP is equally responsible for the mess.

 

1. India will never be vassal state like EU, Australia, SK & Japan. okay, whats so bad? no country dares to attack these vassal states. Many Indians would do anything to immigrate to one of these vassal states or have equivalent living conditions in India. what has stratergic autonomy given India? missed out the manufacturing revolution. 

 

2. US is ruining, Ind-US stratergic partnership. 

 

So India gets state of the art US weapon systems (granted for full market price), US should give ToT (India's ask), US moves supply chains from China to India (India's hope), US support India diplomatically & ISR during conflicts (they did help during Galwan). What does India give US? Stratergic autonomy churan?

Very hard? Worst case scenario being quoted is 0.6% dip in gdp growth.

 

Vietnam which has a deal at 20% is forecast to take a 0.2% hit.

 

So we grow at 5.5% instead of 6.5% taking the worst of all scenarios...

what makes you think US stops with this? start hitting visas to Indian service industry accelerate AI addoption & reduce dependance on Indian service industry.

See at 50% or 500% impact will be same. Effectively importers to the usa will goto other countries (textiles) or raise prices killing demand for sectors with no atlernatives (cut diamonds).
