Junior Jaishankar article has dropped.  It seems Americans have opted for a temporary truce with China and has turned their attention towards India.

Trump sees no incentive in improving ties with India atm.

Something sinister is brewing

The article on Japanese negotiation in WP is an interesting read. Much of what was agreed was never put on paper, because as trump would change position often that they saw no use to it, so they decided to work on speed rather than specifics.

they resorted to nick names for the negotiators as a sign of endearment & to flatter them.

they also bet on the complexity of implementing whatever is agreed on would take time, Trump’s attention meanwhile would have moved on to another country or another issue. They bet on handling issues ad hoc & wait out  3.5 yrs.

knowing our babus they are probably a stickler for details & are dragging things out. Time will tell what worked best.

Actually this is what we do all the time in corporate world. Our US boss turns up. Gives us big lecture. We all agree. Then as soon as he leaves , We are back to old System. Only time we change is when he makes a call otp pointing out exactlyand specifically what he doesnt want us to do and he has noticed that we continued to do.

So Trump is in difficult place as he has no option to him. Its all about what happens after Samudra Manthan (Churn)

Both India and Russia should just enjoy the Sweet Spot. Let China and US figure it out. All this Trumpism and media messaging is just public display of INSECURITY of Trump Administration

Didn’t Biden admin n made India buy more Russian Oil to compensate oil price hike for  EU?

Following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, India began purchasing discounted Russian crude oil after other nations imposed bans

. This was due to an encouragement from the Biden administration for India to accept Russian crude in order to prevent a dramatic spike in oil prices that could have affected American consumers. Some experts also indicate India's role in the US and EU designed price cap mechanism on Russian oil, which aimed to keep Russian oil flowing while limiting Moscow's revenue. India's purchases of Russian oil surged, making it Russia's largest client. India refines this discounted Russian crude into products like gasoline and diesel and then resells those to sanctioning regions like Europ
