Then Tendulkar slowed down a lot. Scored like 21 from 38 balls. Got run out while Ganguly was still accelerating in middle overs. Ganguly was in some form during those days. Once Tendulkar got out at 140 in 26 overs, India were still looking at 280-290 type score. Then Dravid got bogged down and Ganguly kept on moving forward. Once Dravid was out, middle order collapsed and hardly scored at 5 RPO. India was still in control during the 2nd inning and NZ needed 48 off 5 overs or something like that when Kumble and Zaheer were assaulted brutally.
singhvivek141 Posted March 9, 2025 Posted March 9, 2025 Prasad despite being a trundler was inaccurate, can't bowl yorkers as well. Must be frustating for Srinath to do all the work by himself.

He was never more than 130 kph consistently and I think by the end of '99 , that pace dipped to 125 or so.

Srinath used to give lot of boundaries, but will bowl many dots as well. Prasad was easily milked for runs as his deliveries were no threatening due to pace. Srinath was extremely dangerous on skiddy pitches, Prasad needed pitches where deliveries will stick and stop.
