Then they should have bid for him.

Have not seem the auction so do not know if rr bid for him or not.

But retention and rtm works both the ways players of his status would have had a meeting with the rr management both would have discussed it if rr want him in their team what they can offer and what the player is looking for.

Till what bracket both parties agrees and if they are okay at rtm ??? As a management no 1 wants to bring a player who does not want to be in the team at the1st place.

There is some interview of kkr owner describing how s.iyer was on the top of their list but iyer himself wanted to leave kkr

I agree if player does not want to be back then there is no point in having him.

All other batsmen in their team have limitations.

They do nt have any os batter apart from Hetmayer in their entire team, they got it wrong there. All others are Ind batter who are not establish at intnl level.

The are relying too much on jaiswal, sanju and parag.

Need an established os batter in the top 3

Not retaining Jos Butler is costing them big time. He was covering lot of cracks last year.

The top order is still working well without Buttler. It's the middle and lower order which is the problem. Scoring 20 off 3 overs or 9 off the last over with 6 wkts in hand should be a walk in the park but they're not closing the deal. Someone like David Miller or an experienced no. 5 or 6 batter is what they're missing.

Their middle order is a problem. Them letting Butler go was a big mistake.

Yes Parag not replicating his last year form has added salt to their injury

Ah look !Another Dravid bashing thread by the OP :giggle:. Same guy thinks Gambhir is great after home series loss and BGT humiliation :hysterical:

Drid legit turned around our white ball fortunes after the crap Kohli-Shastri left us. It resulted in our first ICC trophy after a decade and results showed in CT too. Proper team selection (dropping KL,Bhuvi from T20s), re-introducing Axar in white ball setup and promoting him at 5, aggressive starts, so much improved under him. I think @Nikhil_cric told they also had some celebrated analyst with the team. So there were no random decisions like Shastri era.

The pitch tampering accusation is nothing but 'naach na jane aangan teda' by our fans. It played exactly like Pak game in Ahmedabad. No one including OP had any problems during the game when we were 80 in 10 overs, but since we lost a home WC, lets make excuses and find scapegoat lol. And if you think the pitch for a frikking World Cup final can be tampered without anyone raising alarm, I have a palace to sell you :giggle:

Coming to RR, sure they have been bad, but not sure what any coach can do if two intl players can't chase 9 in 6 twice. Sandeep was brilliant last year and was bowling last overs then too, so its not some Dravid introduced it. Kinda like Narine still opening for KKR

Sure some things he tried has not worked, but that is true for most. But I'd rather someone try things rather than do nothing and watch his team lose

I think people forget where our white ball cricket was when Dravid joined the setup .

It had stagnated and regressed to the point that if the Top 3 + Bumrah didn't fire every game , we were a lowly side that could be dumped out of tournaments with ease

With a notorious captain who was averse to analytics driven decisions, we were falling tactically behind even the likes of friggin Scotland as evidenced by the 2021 World T20.

Under Dravid, you could see a clear vision and direction with the LOI sides and progress being made in every area and the team was playing as a unit more often than not.
